  • Speedofsand
    FIU(Mac), USF(ACC), UCF(SEC), FSU(SEC), Florida(Big10+) winners ; Miami lost to Notre Dame.

Florida is bad. It took playing against a QB who was 17 of 41 with 5 INTs.

    This.

McGloin single handidly lost them the game today.

Otherwise, the rest of the state of Florida showed up in big style

Ohio State beat Penn State because of McGloin as well.

I know this thread is meant to take a shot at Ohio in some way, but it is impressive.

FIU is in the Sun Belt.

He's noting the conferences that they beat

    Misread the post, thanks.

    Ok?? The better team won.

I wouldn't necessarily say Florida was the better team

Ok. I think they'd probably split if they played 10 times, but Florida was the better team today. Is that acceptable??

Is it just a coincidence that the only sunshine state team that lost their bowl is the one that just canned their coach a few weeks ago?
  • j_crazy
how is it florida's fault that Penn State's QB looked like shit? you could say he looked like shit because of his opponent's talent, but that'd be taking the high road (and making a lot more sense than some B10 homers are willing to accept).

dynasty, not a shot at Ohio. I take the shots from the handful of asshats here that are still butt hurt from 4 years ago, but I will be loving it if tOSU bruises and bloodies Ryan Mallett.
hulk smash, good point. I'm glad to know where the WR coach from Miami is going.

I wouldn't even say that they were the best team today.

The best team doesn't always win the football game

The QB situation at Penn State alone should make someone in power at Happy Valley take JoPa aside and give him a clue.

It may not be a great situation, but at least its a bit better than playing 3 QB's like Florida did

THey did win the game though....
  • darbypitcher22
They won the game but much of that was due to the 5 picks thrown by McGloin. Florida wasn't able to establish a whole lot in terms of driving the football and struggled running the football

Could just be a coincidence that the only team that got beat was the only team that played a decent team?

I don't know about that. Sure FIU beat a MAC squad, but USF beat Clemson, UCF beat Georgia and FSU beat South Carolina. Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina were all favored to win those game. Each of those teams are pretty solid.

I was slightly joking. Irish were playing some good football to finish the season though.
  • darbypitcher22
UCF won 11 games... that's pretty impressive

Lol and neither was Penn st. Bottom line is Florida made plays on D and ST that won the game. The better TEAM won that evening.

Edit-Florida had 178 rushing yards. Id say thats far from "struggling" and they had 2 turnovers. Penn St really only had 4(im not counting an INT thrown w 30 seconds left down 2 scores) So its not like Florida played flawless football to win this game. Both teams are bad but Penn St is worse.

Decent teams do not ever get squashed by service academies.............so no Miami clearly was not matched any better than any of the others.

I missed that........................where is their WR coach going? I figured he would have been one of the ones Golden dismissed.
