Freddie Barnes

No one is bashing him because he played at Bowling Green or because some of us are Notre Dame fans. I said a year ago that I hoped that he did make it in the NFL.

Barnes was signed to the Bears practice squad in November according to wikipedia, but when I just checked their roster he is nowhere to be found. Apparently he got a job offer from Citgo haha

With that being said, for all the knob slobbering going on for Tate, he had a very pedestrian rookie season. 224 yards in 10 games. I'm not closing the book yet, just sayin'

Maybe not this year. Still managed to catch a 52 yard pass and have a 63 yard return. Plus there's that whole $3.261 million my boy's gettin... not too shabby lol

I wouldn't call it bashing, I would compare it to the "Celtics epic collapse thread", somebody made some outlandish statements and were defending Barnes to the death and now look, he didn't get drafted and he is no longer in the league.

Even if they were bashing, who cares? Do you honestly think Freddie Barnes or anybody in his family reads Ohio Chatter?

Even better? An Ohio State fan bashing Notre Dame fans/player...nice to see where you have fallen.

Ohio State fans are above conversing with MAC fans?

You would be surprised at who reads this so maybe you can simmer down on the ignorance (if possible) and have a little respect. I'm sure none of you here did anything he accomplished or came close unless you had a joystick in your hand.

What exactly has Freddie contributed to society if you don't mind me asking? I mean, there are plenty of more important things in life than converting a 3rd down. I mean you don't even know who we are, for all you know I could be a doctor who saves lives.

Stop taking a message board so seriously dude.

Eh come on now. Who is going to believe that? :)

I agree Tate's had an underwhelming rookie season. It's my understanding that it typically takes receivers a year or two to make an impact (unless they're physical freaks like Andre/Calvin Johnson, or Dwayne Bowe, who're capable of running deep routes and overpowering smaller defensive backs) as they learn the nuances of their team's offensive playbook, and defensive coverages. I'm not sure how long it will take for things to click, Sidney Rice's breakout season last year was his third in the league (having Favre at QB instead of Tavaris Jackson likely helped). Improved quarterback play will probably help Tate also, as I think it's time for Seattle to move on from Hasselback. I expect he'll at least be a serviceable player next season.

Another rookie receiver to keep an eye on going forward is Arrelious Benn in Tampa.

Mike Williams had a heck of a rookie season for tampa bay! Dez bryant had a pretty decent rookie season as well

Freddie will be drafted, but I think he'll be a 3 or 4...

Could he break out? sure.. He's a beast in college, no doubt. As always, the Draft combine will allow him to either improve, stay level, or drop, in terms of draft status.
You fucktard.. If that is a real "gem" then we're all fucking guilty, because all of us have been wrong on a player at least once.

It's not like I was proclaiming the guy to be a pro bowl WR.. I said 3 or 4 at best. I also mentioned how he was a beast in COLLEGE.

I doubt that Freddie has much time to be reading this thread. Citgo and 7-11 do not have the most flexible hours out there.

I don't know...I'm pretty sure it's Freddie! I mean, he must have been lurking in the shadows for the last year....you know, reading and not posting. He was just waiting for his opportunity. All of a sudden, a thread came up about him, and that was it! He finally created a username and began to ambiguously point to it being him/a member of his family. It's gotta be him! There's nothing suspicious about that at all!

Either that, or Freddie was googling his own name (something I do all the time just to see if anyone is talking shit about me), stumbled on this thread on page 12 or 13 because that's where the minor league results come up, and was so fired up he had to create a username to keep people like us from sullying his successful career!

In any case...welcome to the OC Freddie!

So now because Freddie didn't make the NFL, he must be working at 7/11 or Citgo? LOL.

So now we're concerned about the feelings of athletes who may be reading these threads? Poor Brady Quinn....he's from Ohio so maybe he reads Ohio Chatter and sees all of the mean things that have been said about him on here. Oh the humanity.

Freddie Barnes helped raise awareness in this area so kudos to him.

I'm going to say he could be a #2..
Yeah, I don't get the people saying he won't be drafted. He's definitely got talent. Like I said, the Draft combine will be HUGE for him to continually improve his stock.

    Right now, I'd say a 3rd or 4th rounder.
Wasn't drafted, the combine wasn't HUGE for him to improve his stock because he wasn't invited. You might not have had the gems that Red did so I apologize for saying that about you. I did see that was back in your LTrain days ;)
