lol at the highlighting of the fact the big ten has five teams in the AP top 25... The Big East has 5 in the top 9

And 6 in the top 15. Pretty impressive by both conferences.

Easily number 1 and 2 conferences this year. I was just tired of hearing a month ago that the Big East would be the fourth or fifth best conference

I highlighted 'em 'cause it's an Ohio-centric board that tends to follow the Buckeyes, not to demonstrate any sort of conference dominance.

    Easily?

the Big 12 has five teams in the top 25, just as the Big Ten does.

    Big Ten...Big Twelve
    2...3
    12...10
    14...13
    20..17
    23...18

    Missouri beat Illinois
Texas beat Illinois and @ Michigan State
    A&M hasn't played a Big Ten team
Kansas hasn't played a Big Ten team...they play @ Michigan in a week
K State hasn't played a Big Ten team...they also have lost 2 of their last 3 because of some intra-team issues...they will be settled and they will likely be a 1-3 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Ohio State hasn't played a Big 12 team
    Minnesota hasn't played a Big 12 team
Illinois and Michigan State, like mentioned earlier, are 0-3 against the Big 12
    Purdue hasn't played a Big 12 team

So lets see...both conferences have 5 teams in the top 25, and when you match them up against each other from top to bottom only one team (osu #2, KU #3) is higher from the Big Ten. And the 5 teams in the top 25 from the Big 12 are 3-0 against the 5 teams from the Big 10.

You wanna re-think that statement now?

Uh...the Big East also has 16 freaking teams compared to 11 in the Big Ten. The Big East SHOULD have more teams ranked. The odds are with that.

As far as the Big12 being better...most with common sense and an unbias opinion know the rankings are not the end all in an arguement. Who plays who really doesn't mean jackshit unless they are evenly matched up. Kansas playing a mid to lower big ten team? Thats going to prove what? I'd say right now they are pretty even right now. We'll see how it shakes lose as the season goes on.

And when did I say the Big 12 was better???

All i said was it isn't easily Big East 1 Big Ten 2.

And I didn't insinuate the rankings make the Big 12 better, I was only disagreeing with the poster who said these rankings mean the Big 10 is easily the 2nd best. If anything, the rankings say the Big 12 is the 2nd best conference.

I also never said Kansas playing Michigan will prove anything, just saying that game is still left (big 12 vs. big 10).

    Anything else cbf?

Was mostly trying to smooth over my first comment... but okay, I'll change it to what I originally wanted to say: The Big East is clearly the best conference in America and there's no debate

Odds aren't with them for having as many teams in the top 9 as the Big 10 has in the top 25.

The Big East team's rankings will slowly decline in the next month. It's hard to even put them in the best conference arguement because of the number of teams. But, they have a solid 12-13 teams in that league. The ACC has been the biggest disappointment.

there's always a debate, especially this early in the season
