Should Tressel boot the "Six Prix" or let 'em play in the Sugar?

berryNo. Not enough ink to cover Pryor's noggin.

SykotykI'm an OSU fan, and the punishment is fucked up. First, Cam Newton gets a free pass into the NFL because he didn't know his father was shopping him around despite calling MSU and telling them he was going to Auburn because they money was just too good... Yeah, that screams ignorance of the situation.
Then, OSU has a few players sell some stuff they were given by the school, and they're booted for five games NEXT year, again giving them a potential free pass to the NFL. They should be punished immediately. This selective punishment the NCAA has started is blatant favoritism towards the bowls, the network airing the game, and the revenue of the city hosting the game. Nothing more. Rules enforcement should not be subject to monetary concerns for the association, members, and partners.

Every time we watch a game on television, pay $85 plus for game tickets, and pay inflated prices for "official" collegiate sportswear donning the logo of our favorite team we as fans participate in it. When fans stop attending and watching the games, college football will cease being about the money. -
Cat Food Flambe'I don't know with whom I'm more disgusted..
The players, who:
a/damm well knew they were breaking a rule. Then again, they and most of other top-grade athlete's have had rules bent for them for their entire careers - why should they respect "rules".
b/pissing on university traditions. Obviously, their tradition is going to making a pile of money in the NFL
The OSU athletic department, for either
a/hiring a compliance staff who then failed to "adequately educate" the players or
b/lying through their teeth about the failure to adequately eductate" the players
The NCAA, for:
a/ inventing a reason to protect the $ugar bowl (adequate education, my ass)..
b/ cutting a deal, methinks, with tOSU to let the player stay eligible for the Sugar Bowl in exchange for
a extra game next year,
c/ failure to allow some sort of revenue sharing with the athletes in the revenue-producing sports. -
gerb131They shouldn't even get a game suspension let alone anything else. If thats big of a deal, have them repay the money and move on.

Be NiceHere's my take:
-Tress pays their fines, but does it under the table.
-Pryor starts a chain of tatoo parlors called Terrelle's Toos.
-Adams flunks out of school and becomes the new night shift manager at Dunk'in Doughnuts on Lane.
-Herron eventually makes it to the NFL Hall of Fame amassing over 12,000 yards in his NFL career.
-Posey and his mom are hired into upper managerial positions with the NCAA.
...and everybody lives happily ever after. -

stlouiedipalmaI have tickets to the Sugar Bowl, so I really want to see a competitive Buckeye team take the field.
However...
The rules were there before these guys came to school and they broke them. They should be suspended from playing in the Sugar Bowl. If Tressel doesn't want to do that, perhaps he should allow the Seniors on the team make the call. My feeling is that the Seniors have enough pride in playing for TOSU that they will punish these guys for betraying the rest of the team and essentially cheapening their accomplishments. Another idea would be for Tressel to hold these players out of the first quarter or even the first half. Unfortunately, the NCAA has too much at stake financially with the Sugar Bowl Committee to suspend the players. TOSU (or the Seniors) should make a statement and leave them in Columbus on the 29th. That would show everyone that you don't benefit from breaking the rules.
