Kent State vs. Xavier 12/4
-
CinciX12Needless to say, the Musketeers should get back onto the right side of the win/loss column this Friday (hopefully, no guarantees)..
I know there has to be some KSU fans here. Tell me a little bit about them. Key players, supposed to have success in the MAC, will it be a game, etc?
There are probably some tickets left for you if you'd like to make the drive as well. -
SQ_CraziesGo Flashes!
I'm rooting for them but I can't tell you much about them this year...I haven't paid any attention to them in the last few years. -
tiger1990Here's to seeing a "team" effort vs. KSU...

What is this team you speak of?tiger1990 wrote: Here's to seeing a "team" effort vs. KSU...
I only see Jordan and Mark throwing crap over their shoulders trying to draw fouls.
Hopefully they have been told that things that worked against Bowling Green, Sacred heart, and Youngstown State won't cut it against real opponents. That couldn't have been more obvious this weekend. -
bo shemmy3337Kent will get blown out IMO. Geno Ford is flat out horrible at recruiting. KSU is a team who lives and dies on the talent brought in yearly because they go after so many juco players. The roster changes drastically from year to year and since Geno has got there KSU has brought in some bad players IMO. Kent is 5-2 with losses to South Florida (blowout) and a close one to Wisconsin-GB(who???) Kent has only one decent win on the year and that is over UAB. They only beat YSU by 9 and are not a good team IMO. They beat Samford by only 3 and Morhead state only by 6. Geno is not going to last long at KSU IMO.

SQ_CraziesNot if he doesn't win. Unlike football, no one will let that last long with the basketball program.

We agree then as Geno is not doing well at all IMO and there is no time to waist and ruin the the program for KSU. Geno will be let go at the end of the year IMO. He is not a bad coach but he is not bringing in kids that are good enough to win games.SQ_Crazies wrote: Not if he doesn't win. SQ_CraziesWell, I'm not sure I agree with that. I agree that he has to produce wins--the history of the program won't allow a coach to come in here and not contend for the MAC nearly every year. But he's 5-2 and wins are wins. I mean if he gets to 20 wins this year I doubt he is let go, too early in the season to jump to that yet. The jury is still out on him.

I don't see them getting to 20 wins this year. In the regular season anyway. I am just saying that he needs to win at least 20 or he is gone. 10 years before they won 20 games or more so he better be able to do it once in two years. -

It would be very difficult to find support in firing a 20 win coach, but that's without any knowledge on the situation.SQ_Crazies wrote: Well, I'm not sure I agree with that. Best case scenario they are 9-4 going in to MAC play but they will only have 1 good win IMO. I do not think they will win 11 out of 16 MAC games this year. I hope I am wrong but that's just how I see it. -
bo shemmy3337Looking at the teams in the Cable Car Classic KSU might get and extra win from that tournament.
-
SQ_CraziesWell we'll see--I agree, if he doesn't put up 20 wins he's going to be on the hot seat at the very least. But if he does put up 20 then he'll keep his job. Let's wait and see how they do, too early for this talk. They're 5-2--haven't come out of the gate on fire but they haven't sucked either.

agreed but you got to admit 5-2 is not impressive when you play 6 teams that are horrible lol.SQ_Crazies wrote: Well we'll see--I agree, if he doesn't put up 20 wins he's going to be on the hot seat at the very least. SQ_CraziesWould you rather see 2-5? It could be worse. Like I said, it's way too early to be talking about this. Give the guy a shot and see what happens. For all anyone knows they could be undefeated the rest of the way.
