Beef O'Brady's Bowl : Louisville vs So Miss

  • goosebumps
Louisville looked absolutely dreadful in the first quarter. Second quarter they really turned it up a notch scoring 21 points. They have all the momentum going into the locker room. Hopefully they can come out in the second half and make a statement.

Cards #19 Johnny Patrick had THE BIG HIT to cause the key fumble. I think #83 of SoMiss has a cracked rib. Johnny is from my area and will be in the Senior Bowl.

    Huge blocked FG by Louisville.
  • goosebumps
It was blocked by your guy Johnny too
  • Speedofsand
Jeremy Wright with a nice 95 yd TD kickoff return to answer , 28-28, 4th qtr

Wow, Louisville got lucky on that "non-fumble" call. Definitely was a fumble.

The Sun-Belt officiating crew is turrrible

Jesus Christ that was a horrible call by the refs and the replay officials. How is that not indisputable?
  • Mulva
Southern Miss totally choked that game away.

Big Win for Louisville. Coach Strong is starting his HC Resume off the right way
  • Little Danny
Strong also has one heck of a recruiting class coming in. UL just got verbals from five star QB Teddy Bridgewater and WR Eli Rodgers. Strong is tapping into his Florida connections. Look for the Cards to keep getting even better.

Glad Louisville won (I picked them in my Bowl Pick 'em).

But seriously the Beef O' Brady's Bowl is one of the reasons we can't have a playoff? People desperately want to watch this crap? haha I could only watch about 15 minutes of it. In the time I watched there were 2 bad snaps from the center.

No one would watch a playoff and there is no way it could be funded....the Bowls are the best.

15 years ago we used to make fun by calling a crappy game the Toilet Bowl......it may not be too far down the road.

You'd still have the Beef O'Brady Bowl if there was a play-off as neither of these two would have qualified anyway.

I had a little WTF moment during the post game when the 3 talking heads made note of what a well played game it was.

I agree. But people frequently bring up the sanctity of the bowl games as if a playoff would blow up the bowl system. (it would render them meaningless)

You could have a playoff and have these crappy bowl games. It is not a one or the other type of deal. It's just a cop out

You know that they don't include the Billy-Bobs-no-one-Gives-a-Fuck Bowl as part of bowl game sanctity. It's the big ones, the ones that have nearly a century of history behind them. Certainly not a cop out to those that have several generations of history behind them to fight against losing their relevance.

I really wish there was a Beef O'Brady's around here.

I think there's one in Tallmadge

Once again, a copout. They already have stamped all over tradition with the BCS. TCfreakingU is playing Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Florida played Cincy in the Sugar Bowl. They rarely get to match teams up from the affiliated conferences any more, let's not pretend that they do.

The sacred bowl games (Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta) can all host playoff games and they can rotate who gets the championship game every year.

Were one or all of the sacred bowls to come out and say "Yeah- a play-off sounds good" it still wouldn't be the issue that gave us a play-off. Sanctity of bowl games is only one, a small, insignificant one at that, issue that prevents a play-off. This, of course, you know.

guess they got 4 gig X-Box 360's as part of their bowl gifts... that's pretty sweet
