hopefully the kid from waterford doesn't get posterized again. though if history is any indication he'll be fouled out by halftime.

    Ohio State by 30.
  • bigdaddy2003
    Bucks by 25 or so.

I can't wait for the BT season to get here...Buckeyes by at least 25
  • Writerbuckeye
You don't have to wait too long...since it begins in about two weeks.

On the other hand I am not going to wish away ANY time this season, and thoroughly enjoy each and every opportunity to watch this team play -- regardless of the competition.

Another stern test for the Buckeyes.I don't know why Matta loaded the schedule like this.

Outside of a very few schools, you can ask the same question of just about any major college basketball program.

There's also that "magic" number of wins the NCAA looks for when considering the tournament. It may not officially be 20, but everyone knows you've got to be right there or above. Especially if your strength of schedule and RPI aren't terrific. Even then, you might not get in.

If a team knows it's going to be playing a really tough conference schedule and may only break even, they have to pick up extra wins, someplace.

I'd like to see the NCAA come up with a formula that wouldn't penalize teams for taking more risks in scheduling.

I'm going out on a limb and picking Ohio State...BY MURDER.

The W is hardly in question, my only concern is that they come hungry and focused at tip time, not a given this time of year with the rest of the student body 10 days off campus.

For whom. The Schott will be a morgue tonight.

Also, not many schools actually schedule the big games, as they usually just play out that way in various tournaments they play early in the year.

    They are all to blame.

Yeah, you get a ton of marquee match-ups early in the year, but they're between teams meeting up in various tournaments. You get SOME big-name games due to actual scheduling, but I'd guess the majority come via tournaments.

Sullinger has a big one again tonight.

    Diebler drops 6 or 7 3's again.

    I think Craft shows up.

We're going to the game tonight. Should be fun. OSU by 21.

We went a few years ago when they played this same team and 7'7" Kenny George. Our seats were row 2 right beside their locker room tunnel. He came out well before the game and was doing some stretches and signed autographs. I'm 5'10" and my face was even with his elbows. I saw Wilt Chamberlain in person many years ago, but Kenny George was the biggest person I've ever seen.
  • se-alum
Lighty w/ 11pts, 3 minutes into the game.
  • Fab1b
    Lighty going off
  • se-alum
Sully making alot of nice passes.

I was at that game, guy was a monster.

This was over before it started. Lighty went off tonight, finished with 29 pts, 7-10 from 3 pt range. Sullinger didn't do much scoring wise, but dominated on the defensive end, grabbing 16 rebounds. Also led the Buckeyes with 5 assists. Couple players played well, couple played not so well. Asheville was just way over-matched tonight.

And the dunk by Weatherspoon at the end. WOW. Dude looks like a freak athlete.

Honestly, I hope that OSU had practice before the game because it would be more beneficial than that actual game was. Good lord.

Prescott not bright enough to understand the non-league schedule facts of life.

    This one:

Based on Matta losing his PG.
Based on Matta losing his best rebounder.
Based on Matta losing his leading scorer.
Based on Matta losing the best player in the country after his Junior year.
Based on Matta not knowing if he had the semblance of an acceptable PG.
Based on Matta's concern about Lighty breaking a bone in his foot again.
Based on Matta's concern about depth in the front court.
Based on Matta having no idea that Sullinger would be this good this early.
Based on Matta not knowing Craft would be a steady PG.
Based on Matta having a roster made up of 60% Freshmen.
