Memphis: FootballScoop has just learned that the next head coach at University of Memphis could very well be Lou Holtz. One source tell us Holtz is a major factor in the coaching search. A second source has led us to believe Holtz is certainly involved. Interestingly enough, Holtz was part of the ESPN broadcast crew in Memphis just 2 weeks ago for the East Carolina vs. Memphis game. -
Hamp89LOL, I'm a Holtz fan, but your thread title is funny shit!
I can't believe Memphis would consider hiring him - I can't see in any way how hiring a man of his age will help a program like Memphis. -
Trueblue23Anything to get him off ESPN

darbypitcher22I can't see this happening.

lhs2ndbaseI assume everytime he gets riled up on TV hes going to stroke, imagine what he'd be like on the sideline. If Memphis is going to try to get some people excited about their program, I'd think they would be in touch with Phil Fulmer, or possibly Terry Bowden. But of course that would take a few $$$ to get them interested and I dont think Memphis is willing to fork over cash unless its for the cagers.

wags6817What about Tubberville ( I know I spelled that wrong).

thedynasty1998I could see him being the next head coach at Notre Dame being more likely than Memphis.

jordo212000They should bring in Phil Fulmer (if he is interested) that would really create an interesting dynamic in Tennessee
