    From Oregon Athletic website:

"The cleat and sock combination will probably draw the most buzz. The cleat changes from a grey/silver color at the toe to a lime green at the heel, which blends into the socks. The effect that combo creates at full speed is thought to be a blur."

Looks like they pissed on their socks.

Why don't they just change their name to the Oregon Nike's.

Seriously, "thought to be a blur"? Is there anyone over the age of 21 that wears Nike apparel/shoes unless they are paid to do so? Their running shoes are awful, I presume their other products are equally inferior.

Same here except for Notre Dame apparel.

I'm surprised that the uniforms are pretty basic compared to what they have worn in the past. I do like the helmet.

I can't believe people actually get mad that Oregon does this.

    Agreed

I'm not mad, just think its trying too hard.....that and the school has Phil Knight's checkbook calling the shots. If they want to be sponsored by Nike, more power to them. I just prefer the traditional looks of OSU, Michigan, Alabama, PSU - if nothing else Oregon is taking one for the rest of the schools by agreeing to be Phil's guinea pig.

But also, "thought to be a blur" - that's douchey.

Exactly. If you need to tell me what you're shooting for you've already failed. Thus, the lameness ensues.

I'm not "mad" either, don't really care how a traditionally challenged institution goes about promoting themselves.

Lol @ nobody over 21 wears Nike apparel
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Seriously, what Nike apparel does one wear? I suppose basketball shoes if one plays basketball a lot but what else is there? Nike's running shoes suck, to the point the mom and pop store where I get our shoes doesn't even carry them. Asics/Brooks (and to a lesser extent New Balance) blow Nike away from a quality standpoint, and if one is super into running and have the $$$ they can go for the mega high end specialty shoes, which isn't Nike.

As for t-shirts, shorts or the like, why pay the premium just to have the logo? Other brands are just as good, and often much less expensive.

I love the carbon colored helmets

Go to a local gym, look around, and you'll realize that people have nike on all around you. And yes, especially when i go play basketball its almost exclusively nike/jordan that i see on the court

actually, nike's got some very interesting designs that only come on their clothing. and i like them. if you were to actually shop around you'd notice there is quite a difference between some of nike/adidas/under armour and tekgear or whatever god awful off brand nonsense walmart sells

as for your question, i wear the following nike apperal: shoes, socks, shorts, tshirts, sweatshirts, hooded sweat shirts, hats, gloves, and jackets. new balance and asiscs might have them beat in the running shoe market, but they do not come close to blowing away nike in any other facet of the business.

not everyone buys things for the label, most of the time it just looks and feels alot better to wear than some clothing with an enlarged tilde as the symbol

    uniforms are dope.

What Oregon does with Nike is just awesome.

Those socks are awful, regardless of who made them.
  • gerb131
Not bad at all, I like the socks.
  • Crimson streak
The socks won't be that noticeable as people think. Most players spat there ankles anyways
  • jordo212000
Definitely not as crazy as I thought they'd be. No major changes. Just bright socks haha.

I don't have a problem with what Nike/Oregon does. More power to them. They have no tradition to stomp over, so why not? They are creating a tradition of making the most ridiculous unis in the sport. That's how they differentiate. Pretty smart actually.

This is very true. Being at Oregon, with the lack of abundance of top tier high school football talent, they have to carve a niche to gain a competitive advantage. They do this by having an offense that kids want to play in and like em or not...18 year old kids love what Oregon does with their jerseys.
