SonofanumpDo you think that OSU is glad they did not have to deal with Henderson and all the baggage that came with it.

Have there been any issues with Henderson once he got to Miami? -

There hasn't been any issues with Henderson since he's been in Miami. I don't think he came with much baggage at all.karen lotz;602123 wrote:Have there been any issues with Henderson once he got to Miami? -

Yeah I didn't think there were any problems. I certainly would have liked to have him in South Bend this season and moving forward, regardless of the perceived baggage. -

My point was that even though we are playing in a BCS bowl, it really at the end of the day is no different than playing in the Gator Bowl (except for the whole your school and conference splits $20 mill thing. But the players don't see any of that, so that is neither here nor there). I just find it funny we are beating our chests about playing in the Sugar Bowl. Do they put Sugar Bowl Champions in the ring of honor around the 'Shoe?
No...its not in the ring of honor...however...(think Steven A. Smith) If you have ever been in the WHAC (the practice field) you will notice a big old sign for every bowl victory. A Sugar Bowl sure as hell looks better than the Sun Bowl or Gator Bowl. I know your next response....looks better to who? The answer......wait for it.......Recruits. All we hear is BCS this and BCS that...recruits know OSU is there alot, but when they see the spectacle in WHAC, it cements it.
On a side note, was it Floyd that Urban had a "dream" about? I don't want someone stupid enough to fall for that at OSU. -

While we will be enjoying a 6th straight BCS bowl appearance, 6th straight Big 10 title, and a future that looks bright as ever, we pass along our condolences for the sorry state of affairs you all find yourselves in:
1) coming off mediocre 7-5 seasons (Florida, Miami), or disastrous 5-7 no-bowl-appearance season (Texas)
2) coaching regime-change (Florida, Miami), or loss of D-coordinator (Texas)
3) the ever-stagnant, dismal, lack of excellence that accompanies all athletic programs not named The Ohio State
However, don't despair- the future needn't be so terrifying. For the miniscule exchange of one year away from D-1 football, you guys can right the ship and transfer to OSU. Again, Happy Holidays to all three of you.
what exactly is the significance of going to a non championship bcs game? those games are no different than any other bowl game played by a bunch of also rans. and as far as the 6th straight Big 10 title. isnt OSU a co champion to wisconsin ? and didnt wisconsin whip OSU on the field? but yet you claim a conference title, the same way OSU fans did when penn state beat OSU in shoe. being the big ten doesnt have a tie breaker you can do that. but really wisconsin is the conference champion. -

but really you are an idiot. Co - champs are Co - champs.KnightRyder;602867 wrote:... but really wisconsin is the conference champion. -
FatHobbitKnightRyder;602867 wrote: but really wisconsin is the conference champion.
Michigan State thinks they are the conf champs because they beat Wisconsin on the field. And Iowa must think they are the conference champs because they beat MSU on the field. And I guess that would make OSU conf champs because they beat Iowa on the field.
Agreed.Tiernan;602884 wrote:but really you are an idiot. Co - champs are Co - champs. -

I don't remember 2001. And truthfully I don't remember much of 2002 except for the Purdue, Michigan, and Miami games. I don't remember much of '03 either.
When you're going to BCS games and winning 10+ games and a big 10 championship every year for 6 years in a row they start to blend together. I'm not trying to be arrogant, I'm speaking honestly, I just don't remember parts of certain seasons. -

beat me to it. seems a lot like Pryor. had all kinds of "baggage" during recruiting that went away when he showed up for school. -
Mike Plantactually, I do remember a little bit of 2001 ... at Ann Arbor

Hell, I'm not even an OSU football fan (although I could tolerate the team around 2001 and before) and I still remember the Outback Bowl where the Brewer kid (from Troy I think) dominated OSU. -

Just don't remember it. Can't explain why. Honestly, I don't even remember the season opener in '03 against Washington that was my first Buckeye game in the 'Shoe. I think I've spoiled myself through broadcasting and that I've taken for granted all of the Buckeye fandom and whatnot I had before I started doing this. -

doesnt the champion of the big ten go the rose bowl? -

We've been over this countless times already. Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are co champs of the Big Ten this year. All three of them are champions and will all get a trophy. Wisconsin gets the auto bid to the BCS (Rose Bowl) due to the tie breakers. It doesn't mean they are the outright champion.KnightRyder;603538 wrote:doesnt the champion of the big ten go the rose bowl? -

and it doesnt mean that OSU is the outright champion like the the thread starter would lead you to believe. -

What part of 6 straight BCS games and 6 straight Big Ten titles is inaccurate? I don't agree with him calling out the 3 young guys or whatever you want to call what he's doing but he isn't saying anything wrong as far as those accomplishments go.KnightRyder;603714 wrote:and it doesnt mean that OSU is the outright champion like the the thread starter would lead you to believe. -
Tobias FünkeKnightRyder is correct in his belief that Ohio State fans constantly claim six Big ten titles, and fail to mention (or perhaps realize) half of them were tied. It simply sounds better to say "Jim Tressel has won seven Big Ten Championships" than "Jim Tressel has won three outright Big Ten Championships and four shared Big Ten Championships." Both are true, one just sounds better.

ytownfootballDo you really think Wiscy and Sparty fans are going to say "Yeah! We're Big 10 Co-Champs!"
To suggest it's an exclusive to Ohio State fans is, well, stupid. -
