Dane Sanzenbacher! OSU team MVP over TP!

Did it occur to anybody that maybe this award had absolutley nothing to do with what Pryor did wrong, but everything to do with what Sanzenbacher did right? Maybe the team, Pryor included, decided that they wanted to reward a SENIOR who worked extremely hard for four years, exceeded even the most optimistic expectations, laid it out on the line game in and game out(some early concussions in there), but did not get much recognition in return for his hard work. Yet, instead we have these conspiracy theories on why Pryor did not win it. No wonder his critics always says he's all about himself, they make it about him even when they shouldn't.

I would love to see Sanz do well in the NFL and I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see it. He could literally be destroyed if he went across the middle in the NFL.

I am far from a Pryor lover, but it's hard for someone to live up to some of the expectations people have put on Pryor. On the other hand, Dane wasn't really expected to be as much of an impact as he was.

That being said, I think Sanz deserves this. He is a senior who has had significant play time for the last 4 years. And was a great leader on and off the field this season. I think it has less to do with Pryor and more to do with what Sanz has done.

I agree, but who really expected much out of him at OSU?

I agree with that too. Pryor had a pretty good year and Dane has been a great captain and really exceeded expectations. I'm happy for him.

I'm with you, no one expected him to do what he has done at OSU. I really want him to do well in the NFL, I just think the NFL is at such a different level that Dane wouldn't do well. But I'd happily eat crow and I hope he proves me wrong. I want for him to prove me wrong.

Also, Scarlet, those are some good points on why Dane might have been voted MVP.

How am I a troll? Just because I don't buy into all the Pryor hype? I think he's a very good college QB, but I don't understand the people who think he had the potential to leave early this year or the people who wanted to mention him in the same breath as Cam Newton. He's a very good QB, but people tend to get carried away.

Sorry if you don't like it, but it certainly doesn't make me a troll.

And yes, I know of several former players and have connections to a few guys on the current team and they all say that Pryor has a huge ego and is not the most well liked guy in the locker room. I'm not saying they don't respect his game and don't appreciate him, but it's not hard to imagine him being an egomaniac. And before anyone says, "He's the starting QB at OSU, of course he's going to have an ego," that's just a poor excuse.

Love Sanzenbacher but, if he was hurt how many games could OSU win? If Pryor was hurt how many games would they have won? Rest my case.
