Ohio State hosts Western Carolina at the crusty, old St. John. Fall commencement at Value City today. Catch it if you can, could be the last or one of very few that we see at St. John before the old broad comes down.

Wish I could go down to St. Johns today. Unfortunately have another committment. Loved that place for basketball. Walked out of there with ears ringing back in the Jimmy Jackson years.

Same here...but JJ brought the place down like no other since the days of Hondo and Lucas. Remember a game against Louisville. They jumped out a big lead early. Felton Spencer started taunting the crowd with the "L" sign. Well, when he did that...JJ took over and OSU came back to win. Great game, unbelievable atmosphere. Of course, then there was the great IU game when JJ hit Lee for the game winner in double OT I believe. Some great memories.

I was long gone by the time JJ got there...but the atmosphere has been unparalleled since moving to VC, even on TV it's not the same. Oh well...

    Just a little nostalgic...:)

You can't just pay to watch one game anymore can ya??

I got the one month team pass.

Following the game on ESPN's gamecast. LOL at Western Carolina having more turnovers than points more than halfway through the first half.

I don't think so. I looked just about everywhere and the cheapest deal I could get is the one month team pass for $7.95 a month.

Games like these are a joke. Nobody gains anything, except the money guarantee paid to the opponent.I wonder what the coaches say to each other after games like these."Thanks for kicking our ass." Don't call me, I'll call you."" It must be nice to have all of those burger boys on your team."

Are you often with them during these scenarios? And if so, to what degree are we talking here?

Please tell me this doesn't involve the color purpure and a top in the pattern of a snow santa and I'll walk.

St. Johns would rock when Carter Scott, Herb Williams, Clark Kellogg, Todd Penn, and Ronnie Stokes played in the mid to late 70's. Too bad Elden Miller was such a terrible coach. He should have had 2-3 national championships with the material and talent he had.

For anyone interested, the game will be played on BTN TV at 5:30 p.m. today if my memory serves. It's one of those student production deals like their exhibition game with Walsh was.
