Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, Iowa's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards, has been arrested by Iowa City Police on multiple counts of possession of controlled substances, keeping a drug house and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.

Johnson-Koulianos is being held in the Johnson County Jail and is expected to make an initial court appearance Wednesday morning. He's being held on $8,000 bail.

"I am highly disappointed to learn of the charges. Derrell has been suspended from all team activities," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said in a statement Tuesday evening.

Johnson-Koulianos caught 46 passes for 745 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2010, good enough for first-team All-Big Ten honors. In his career, he caught 173 passes for 2,616 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Iowa entered the season with high expectations -- which included national championship aspirations -- but finished 7-5 after losing its last three games. The Hawkeyes will square off against Missouri in the Insight Bowl, but it appears they will do so without their top receiving threat.

Wow. I'm surprised to hear this about him.

I know him, he went to my Alma mater for 3 years then bolted for Mooney his senior season.

He's a good kid for the most part, but I think he wants to live the Matt Leinart lifestyle of partying. It's a shame, he COULD have been a first round draft pick, maybe lower, but I wonder how many teams pass on him altogether now.

He just cost himself wheel barrows of money.

Maybe even more than money, word is he got busted with weed, coke and some pills.

    Hope it was worth it.

It's the boosters or agents fault. If someone had given him a boat load of money, he wouldn't have had to become a dealer.

Did he have any history in Soup City? He might escape time with no record, but I suppose it all depends on amounts and circumstances.

Wonder if it was a part time or full time job?

No none that I know of at least. Kid always seemed pretty straight laced. This really shocked me.

He just lost a shit ton of money, he will definitely slip in the draft if even drafted at all. Cocaine and marijuana plus pills.

Saw a report on the Big Ten Channel about him not long ago. The Koulianos family adopted him. Seemed like a nice kid.

He's already Iowa's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards, now he's going to get ahold of another record in the near future!

He should have had Cam Newton's dad broker him a deal when he signed with the Hawkeyes.
