Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden
-
TBone14I wish Ohio State played a schedule like Michigan State. They have played UConn, Washington, Duke and will take on The Cuse tonight in the night cap from the Garden. These are the games where your team becomes battle tested.
The early game matches #14 Memphis vs #4 Kansas. Good night of hoops with no football to watch. -
slingshot4everTime to watch my Jayhawks run this shit.
-
Midstate01I think some of it is by invite. So you gotta get invited to play.
This first game has been really boring. Memphis looks god awful. -
DA isn't having funBoring? Been a pretty good game in my opinion.

Out in Maui, Sparty played UConn and Washington. That's real nice(obviously), but it could have been Wichita State and Virginia or Oklahoma. Plus the Duke game isn't a game that Izzo scheduled, as well as tonight against Syracuse.
Don't get me wrong, Sparty almost always has games like this year in and year out, but this preseason wasn't exactly their choice. -
wildcats20BTW...
Kansas is FINALLY pulling away from Memphis. Up 15 with just over 3 left. -
killer_ewokSadly, I think my Orange are "up" for this game but I think they'll start falling in love with the 3 and not work it inside to Jackson like they should. I can't imagine MSU losing AGAIN this early in the season. Regardless.....
GO 'CUSE!!!!
BTW, the Jimmy V. speech gets me every time. -

The exact thing I was going to post when I saw this thread. -
killer_ewokBoeheim and company do an EXCELLENT job of developing Forwards and Centers over the course of their careers at Syracuse. Guys like Etan Thomas, Darryl Watkins, Craig Forth, Jeremy McNeil, Conrad McRae, Hakim Warrick, Preston Shumpert, Darris Nichols, Terrence Roberts, Arinze Onuaku and the list goes on. And now Rick Jackson. They were FAR better players their Senior year than their Frosh year. Of course guys tend to naturally get better to an extent but most of the guys I mentioned looked awful early in their careers and ended up being All Big East and some pretty good college players by the end of their playing days in the Dome. Kris Joseph has got a lot better as well.
Orange showing intensity thus far. I figured as much. I keep waiting for the bottom to drop out though. They have "experience" but not the "leadership" that they had last season. I'm hoping that they can keep this up and play smart at the offensive end. -
Midstate01Anyone else think sparty may be a little overrated?? They haven't had an impressive game yet.
-
Hb31187Korie Lucious has got head and shoulders better than last year

Theyre like this every year, people think theyre overrated or not very impressive. Then come March theyre like a buzz-saw -
Hb31187Rick Jackson is 10x better than last year btw, my first chance to watch him

True. -

Definitely. I've watched just about every game that he's played in his 'Cuse career and he's improved so much the last couple years. But especially this year.Hb31187;591886 wrote:Rick Jackson is 10x better than last year btw, my first chance to watch him -
killer_ewokMSU on a run. Orange firing blanks now.

Hes so much more explosive than I can remember him being in years past, i assume because of teh weight loss. Does he have a back to the basket game or a midrange game yet? He hasnt had to show that yet, bc hes had all dunks and layups this gamel ol -

Yeah, he does. Nice spin move and a baby hook as well.
Scoop fillin' it up now. -

Alot of uncharacteristic turnovers led to that game being as close as it was. KU can't continue to have double digit turnovers in each half and expect to keep winning.wildcats20;591762 wrote:BTW...

killer_ewokAaaaaand the bottom has officially dropped out.
-
wildcats20Wow, basically a 3 on 1 and don't even get a shot....
-
Cleveland BuckI'm going to go out on a limb and assume this is a Big East officiating crew. The Spartans have been getting banged and hacked all night and getting no calls. Lucas was horse collared on that drive a few plays ago and it went the other way. Sparty's getting jobbed tonight.
-
killer_ewok
Seriously? I don't think the officiating has been bad at all. They're certainly not "getting jobbed."Cleveland Buck;591995 wrote:I'm going to go out on a limb and assume this is a Big East officiating crew. About 20-25 lbs.
