Go out on a limb and make a bold bowl prediction

  • Red_Skin_Pride
Make a bold prediction before all the bowls start, and we'll see who's predictions play out. Can be any bowl, big or not so big.

    I have 2:

*TCU will expose Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. TCU has a far better defense than most people realize, and they are built to stop a team like Wisconsin. Actually, they're built to make a team with a weak QB pass to beat them, and I'm sorry, but Scott Tolzein is not going to pass Wisky to a Rose Bowl victory. TCU is the most balanced offense Wisconsin will see since Michigan State, which, ding ding ding...beat Wisconsin. Horned Frogs will score enough points to get Wisconsin behind early, which puts a running offense at a disadvantage to come from behind. Tolzein will have to pass, and he won't be able to be consistent enough. That's how MSU got them, and the reason Ohio State lost to them. They got the lead early and pounded out a win.

    * I'm no Domer by any means, but Notre Dame will get it's first bowl win over a *MAJOR* team in a LONG time. I know they won a bowl game a few seasons ago, but a win over Miami (no matter what their program's situation is right now) is a lot better than any win they've had before.

Oklahoma will be underwhelming...wait, they always are in bowl games so this isn't BOLD
    :D

I tend to agree with you about both TCU and Notre Dame.

My bold prediction for the bowl season: the Big Ten won't win a single bowl game.

My even bolder prediction for next season: Notre Dame will travel to Palo Alto undefeated to face an undefeated Cardinal team.

10,000 people will show up to the Pizza Bowl...I know I'm probably aiming too high but oh well

BOLD Prediction...The Hyundai "We Build Cheap - Ass Jap Autos" Bowl gets cancelled because nobody wants to watch two second rate 7 - 5 programs, much less travel to the arm pit of El Paso TX to do so.

The Buckeye defense will harrass Ryan Mallot into 3 interceptions and finally beat an SEC team in a bowl game 31-21.
  • purple_rein
Virginia Tech and Stanford will go down as the best bowl game of the year with the Hokies pulling it out in the end.
  • vball10set
UConn will defeat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl on a trickeration play with 6 seconds left, sending the great state of Connecticut into a frenzy (but they'll be no marriage proposals this time around)

Hyundai is a Korean company....and the proper nomenclature is Asian-American dude.

    The Pac-10 will go winless.

Agree, except I think VPI wins by 10.

Northwestern beats Texas Tech by 7

The players do not show up for RR and UM gets Blown away in the Gator Bowl. Soon after RR is fired.

    Who is VPI?
  • johngrizzly
I know it's not BOLD but considering OSU's record against SEC in bowls, I say OSU by 10+.

Va Tech's real name aka we lost to James Madison University

this is no surprise--when was the last time El Paso saw this kind on matchup, regardless of the records of the teams...it'll be a sell out

Very bold: Uconn takes care of OU
Bold: Wisco drops 70 and wins 70-21 or 70-28
Bold: Oregon is held to 7 or 14 points
Not so bold: Big ten goes 2-0 in BCS games, but 1-3 in the others.
Not bold, in fact almost guaranteed: The SEC wins another national championship, except in a few years it probably won't count (at least it shouldn't).
  • Mulva
Wisconsin dropping 70 on TCU is wayyyy more bold than UConn winning.

And the Big 10 finishing 3-3 is bolder than you think considering they play 8 bowl games :)
  • wes_mantooth
    TCU and ND win convincingly.
