Illinois Continues to Roll
-
PrescottThe Fighting Illini traveled to the west coast and took care of the Gonzaga Bulldogs by a score of 73-61. At one point in the second half the Illini led 67-47. This is a good Illini team and a very average Gonzaga squad that dropped to 4-3.

centralbucksfanThis isn't a surprise to me. Ill is better then many people think. McCaney is as good as it gets at the PG posiition. This team will be heard from within the Big Ten.
-
WriterbuckeyeYep. No surprise to any Big Ten fan who really pays attention to these things.
The top of the Big Ten is ridiculously loaded, as compared to most conferences. You have MSU, Ohio State, Illinois (likely) fighting for the title, with Wisconsin and Minnesota very close on their heels. All of those teams will probably remain in the top 25 most of the year.
It's not inconceivable that the league champion might have four losses as they beat one another up. A tie at the top seems more likely this year than most, simply because there is so much parity. -
CinciX12Illinois finishing 3rd wouldn't surprise me at all.
-
PrescottI wouldn't be surprised if Illinois won the league. They have veteran players and they have some young athletic players. If McCamey stays healthy and stays focused the Illini are very dangerous.

I said this as well a week or so ago. I could see between 3-5 losses with the Big Ten winner. Of course some LOL at that not thinking OSU would lose that many. Some dont' realize how difficult it is to play on the road in conference with teams/coaches who are very familar with everyone in the conference. -

The only plus for OSU is they don't have to go to E. Lansing this year. That very well could end up being the difference. -
MulvaIllinois lost to UIC today. Same story, different year. Talented and completely inconsistent.

Seems like it.
They had played with fire against Oakland and Northern Colorado, finally caught up with them today.
Like you said, Weber seems to be good for one of these "runs" every year.
They're a fine team, certainly, but this is a rough loss. 54 points.
P.S. Tisdale should not see the floor again, ever. -
MulvaTisdale and Davis might literally be the 2 softest players in the Big 10, and that's why Illinois isn't a real threat.
-
Hb31187Tisdale is a perfect pick and pop big man...dont need to be physical to do what he does. He has a different skill set, mid range is money, and he has a hook shoot as well

gerb131UIC is a horrible loss. What were they thinking jackin 3's down 1 with 15secs left? McCamey should be driving.
