3 BCS games are set

    NCG = Auburn Oregon
    Rose = Wisconsin TCU
Sugar = OSU Arkansas (because there is no way Sugar passes up OSU for Stanford or Big East winner)

Orange will need to decide between Stanford and U Conn vs Va Tech
Fiesta will get whoever Orange doesn't take vs Oklahoma

Ducks open as a 3 point favorite.

    Over/Under starts at 123.5 :)

    So...under?

Was really hoping we'd get a better team than Arkansas, so naturally I was rooting for Auburn to lose so we could play them(and beat them).

Oh well, should be an interesting game, Oregon is tough I can see why they are the favorites(Oregon is also a team that lost to the Buckeyes last year convincingly)

If Auburn lost we would have played South Carolina, as they would have been the SEC champs.
  • sleeper
That would be even worse. The SEC East is the WORST conference in the country.

I'll take Cam Newton, who will be the Heisman Trophy winner, although those winners have not been successful in the National Championship games.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Arkansas is a quality team...Mallet is the best QB the Buckeyes will have seen all year - and not to turn this into a pro thread the Bengals should be in the mix to draft him.
  • darbypitcher22
it should be a good game against Arkansas... very active defense...

    Auto Bids:
    Oregon
    Wisconsin (tied to Rose Bowl)
Virginia Tech (tied to Orange Bowl)
    Connecticut
    Auburn
    Oklahoma (tied to Fiesta Bowl)
TCU (Highest Ranked Non AQ, tied to Rose Bowl if it loses a team to the BCS Title Game)
    Stanford (AQ BCS Top 4)

    Selection Order
Sugar Bowl selects Arkansas to replace Auburn (BCS #1)
Rose Bowl selects TCU to replace Oregon (BCS #2)
    Sugar Bowl selects Ohio State
    Orange Bowl selects Stanford
    Fiesta Bowl selects Connecticut

    BCS National Championship
    Auburn (13-0, 8-0 SEC, SEC Champion) vs. Oregon (12-0, 9-0 Pac-10, Pac-10 Champion)

    Rose Bowl
Wisconsin (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten, Big Ten Champion) vs. TCU (12-0, 8-0 Mountain West, At Large)

    Fiesta Bowl
Oklahoma (11-2, 6-2 Big XII, Big XII Champion) vs. Connecticut (8-4, 5-2 Big East, Big East Champion)

    Sugar Bowl
Arkansas (10-2, 6-2 SEC, At Large) vs. Ohio State (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten, At Large)

    Orange Bowl
Virginia Tech (11-2, 8-0 ACC, ACC Champion) vs. Stanford (11-1, 8-1 Pac-10, At Large)
  • Manhattan Buckeye
The Orange Bowl got a lot more interesting. Stanford should thank the Tek fans for filling up Dolphin Stadium and allowing a pretty good match-up. The Fiesta - ugh. The Citrus (or Capital One), Outback and Alamo bowls should be more entertaining.

Fiesta Bowl night should be boring, but I like a lot of the matchups. I want to see if TCU can matchup up with Wisky

    Out of these match-ups

    I'd go

    Auburn by 10+ on Oregon.
Wisconsin will win by 14+ over TCU
Oklahoma can name the score vs UCONN... (UCONN, really? Michigan smoked those guys)
Ohio State will need a good run game and TP to play well to beat Ar-kansas. I say OSU by 7 or so..
VA Tech and Stanford will be a good one. I'll take Stanford by a FG.

The Orange Bowl will be half empty, but more people will watch Andrew Luck than Connecticut on TV. Oklahoma fans will fill up the Fiesta Bowl, but no one but them will watch the game.
  • ytownfootball
UConn's really the only turd in the pool, the rest seem like decent matchups, though I will be surprised to see TCU not get curbstomped by Wiscy

Hokie fans will migrate south to Miami...they've done it before, and Stanford is a nice opponent for them. This should be a good game.

Some of them will, which is why the place will be half full. I would be shocked if Stanford brings more than 1,000 fans out there. They don't even go to Stanford home games.

Stanford fans might surprise us, this really is a good match-up. Perhaps I'm biased since I'll be watching it on tv, but this is potentially a very good game. Stanford fans have a Heisman candidate (and IMO the #1 draft pick for the Bills) and might get their east coast alumni to show up. Regardless, should be a good match-up.

The bowl season is looking really good, when Michigan St. might play one of Nick Saban's teams (LSU or Bama) in a non-BCS slate, we're looking at a nice set of games.

Agree with everything except the Stanford-VA Tech game. I think Stanford wins by 10 points and handles VA Tech. ACC and Big East are worse than MWC and WAC this season. VA Tech lost to Boise St. and James Madison and UConn lost to Michigan. Not really strong teams IMO.

Isn't Carolina setup to have the #1 pick right now? Although if the Panthers do get the top pick I don't think they'll take a QB since they just drafted Clausen last year. So if you meant Bills as their 1st round pick then I digress.

Which is why the Orange Bowl will take an east coast team (UConn). Expect to see Stanford in the Fiesta.

How can the NCAA go about no longer making the Big East and automatic bid conference? Going 8-4 and getting into a BCS bowl over Michigan State (11-1), LUS (10-2), and Boise (10-1). It's ridiculous! That Bowl game will lose money this year.

It's not like UConn is going to bring a horde of fans down there either, and exactly no one would watch Virginia Tech/UConn on TV.
