  This is a very fair point.
  
  For me, it was the non-controversy about his profanity that made the youtube rounds in his last year at TT. I call it a non-controversy because the profanity part didn't bother me. What it exposed is that Leach sounded like a homeless person randomly yelling stuff and appeared to have an IQ around 50 (even though he's much smarter than that). For people that saw the video feed of the Miami (OH) coach after the win last night, that is how you address your team. It was inspirational (admittedly it was a win) from a coach that has the support of his players. Leach looked like a fool with a disinterested team, and there haven't been many Red Raider former players that have stepped up and supported him. There is a reason why he is unemployed currently.

  
  I don't recall that in particular, but now that you mention it, I still laugh out loud at the "fat girlfriend" statement. I guess I find all that to be weird (and you're right, probably unbecoming because he's smarter than what that would lead one to believe) but I see why those types of things might make schools a little leery.

  The better question isn't "who regrets firing their last coach" but "who regrets who they hired to replace their last coach." I don't think the schools like Minnesota or Miami regret having fired their previous coaches, but right now I think that both regret who they hired as replacements. And I don't know that Michigan regrets that Carr retired when he did (although some may) but I think they definitely regret who they hired to replace him.

  Though he didn't get fired (I don't think) the team from the Big10 that always jumps to my mind is Michigan State in between the time Saban left, until they hired Dantonio. They had a string of 2-3 coaches there that were just not really top caliber coaches. John L Smith was entertaining as hell, but not what MSU needs. I've been impressed by the job Dantonio has done so far up there.
