#16 Oregon State @ #7 Oregon

Ohio State fans should be paying close attention.

Oregon State is coming into the game with a 4 game win streak while Oregon survived an overtime thriller against Arizona.

    Thoughts and predictions.

Should be a helluva game. I think Oregon wins. I don't think OSU can contain Jeremiah Masoli.

Masoli on the delay draw up the middle will decide how things go (in either match-up I guess). When Masoli is forced to throw he's not been consistent, at least in the games I've seen.

I think Oregon wins. I hope they do too. I think Ohio State could beat OSU 9 out of 10 times. But I actually would probably take Oregon over OSU if they meet up.

As an OSU fan, I'm more scared of Oregon than Oregon State. So, I'll be rooting for State.

Why? If OSU is to regain any sort of big game swagger and positive attention from the media I'd much rather beat a Top 10 Oregon team over Oregon State.

Regardless of who wins Ohio State will be playing a top 10 team.

As for the game I think Oregon will win. Their ability to get the zone read going will determine how easy it will be. Oregon State has by far the best run defense that the Ducks have faced. They are sound in gap assignments and very athletic up front. What the ducks like to do against this type of unit is to run the zone read on the 3 technique defensive tackle instead of the backside end. That was the key as to why they were able to trounce the Trojans so resoundingly. If Oregon is able to get the inside and outside zone read going in addition to the zone read the play action passing will be there and the ducks will romp. The best hope for the Beavers is to limit the ducks possessions with the Rogers brothers and force some mistakes in the passing game from Masoli because he is flawless in the running game.

Been a long time since the Buckeyes battles the Beavers.
I am pulling for the Beavers in this one.

I'll be watching and taking notes.

As a UC fan I'm rooting for the Beavers. Would be nice to have the PAC 10 champs on your schedule to boost its strength.... especially if Texas should fall to Nebraska :)

Oregon State is not winning at Autzen Stadium.

3rep, you really think Oregon State will jump 6 spots into the top 10? Georgia Tech is sitting at #12 and with a W in the ACC title game will move into Oregon's spot in the Top 10. Oregon State would need a team like Cincy to lose to drop out of the top 10 but that would push Pitt who is #15 into the top 10. PSU and Iowa won't be going anywhere at 10-2

Oregon State will not be a Top 10 team. Too many teams to leap.

I hope they don't. I want Oregon. I think they are the best team in the PAC 10 hands down this season. I want Ohio State playing the best and beating them. I don't want a watered down opponent.

out of sight out of mind. Most voters forget about the teams they don't see. Penn State and Iowa are done for the season and that will be held against them come next staurday night when voters are constructing their ballots. In addition to that PSU and Iowa have their computer rankings all tied up they can pick up a few fractions of a point if Cuse beats UConn or if Arizona beats USC but it won't be enough to gain ground on the teams in front of them. A big win in Eugene and the Beavers could very well be in the top 10, top 12 at worst.

    34-28 Oregon.

    Write it down.

The better question is which Rose Bowl matchup has a better name?

    Bucks vs. Ducks

    or

    Nuts vs. Beavers
  • cbus4life
    I'm cheering for Oregon.
  • sleeper
Hopefully Oregon wins so we can smash a perennially decent team and begin the quest for National Titles over the next couple years.
  • buckeyes_woowee
It doesn't matter who Ohio State plays. If they win then they have a load of momentum heading into next year!
  • Fab1b
I want Oregon! I think it would do the Bucks better nationally to play and hopefully beat Oregon vs Oregon St.

The question is-- would UC gain respect of Buckeye fans when Oregon State beats Oregon and OSU??? :)
