No kidding. Over 1,400 posts of pure garbage. I actually feel kind of bad for the pathetic guy..

The world end's on December 21, 2012 anyways; so the new ND coach won't have a chance to be fired.

Actually ND will probably be set for a national champsionship showdown in January 2013 but won't be able to play in it since the world will be ending on the forementioned date.

    Currently, it's about three seasons.

The obsession with ND is rather embarassing.

So what is the time line for a new coach ?

Either until WalMart closes, or NCF leg presses New York.

Now we have a name to go with the predictions.

You sir, are ridiculous. Why would a coach ever leave Notre Dame? They are certainly going to make him a rich man if they fire him.

You don't teach kids about contracts do you?

He will leave before he is fired.
That proves it, you know absolutely nothing about sports.

    The Kelly?

With all those Irish people at ND, wouldn't wanna get him confused with them. He is THE Kelly.

Buckeye fan here... why do you guys even give ccrunner the satisfaction of responding?

Kelly was absolutely the right choice. I know that the Big East isn't the best conference out there, but they do have some good teams, and he took a decent Cincinnati program who had recently made the move from CUSA to a BCS conference and had a 34-6 record. If he can recruit and win at Cinci, then he can certainly recruit and win with the Notre Dame name behind him. The midwest and the rest of the country had better watch out. Notre Dame will struggle next year, but they won't be down for long.

Not saying he's going to set the world on fire in year one, but Notre Dame will be the more talented team on the field in 9 or 10 games next year. If he could get those players to play to their potential, he could win 9 or 10 games next year (like he did in his first year at UC).

I'm wondering how much they're going to struggle. On offense, they return all of their backs, and they should be very solid. They have one of the best wide receivers in the country with Floyd, and a slew of talented youngsters. The offensive line losers a lot, but it may be addition via subtraction. Some of those guys can come back four a fifth year too.

On defense, the slow linebackers graduate. I'm ready to see a lot more of Filer out there. The unit as a whole should improve to at least mediocre.

A Gator Bowl would be a great season.

I disagree. Gator Bowl would be a good season and obvious sign the program is headed in the right direction. Wouldn't go so far as to say its a great season.

If Brian Kelly gets Notre Dame nine wins next season, I'll be happy. I'll put it that way. :)

Western Michigan and Army are the only two guaranteed wins in my opinion. But this is how I see it:

Purdue: It's at home, and Coach Kelly's first game, so there's a edge. According to their depth chart, Purdue must replace three of their offensive line and their quarterback (who will be making his first start...in Notre Dame Stadium). They also must replace both of their corners and their safety. Floyd will be drooling.

Michigan: It's at home, but it's a rivalry. Michigan's offense will be fine, but their lack of viable defensive backs will allow Notre Dame to stay in the game.

Michigan State: Once again, another fervid rivalry game and this one especially is impossible to predict. Michigan State will return a lot and it's at their place. I expect the Spartans to come away with the W in this one.

Stanford: Harbaugh is a terrific coach, but without Gerhart I see Notre Dame taking this one.

Boston College: Boston College was young last year, and they should hopefully get Mark Herzlich back from cancer. The Eagles will be too tough for the Irish in Boston.

Pittsburgh: Hopefully Dion Lewis leaves early. We won't beat Pittsburgh until he leaves. They have to replace their quarterback, so that gives Notre Dame a chance. But it's later in the season and he'll have progressed.

    Western Michigan: Yeah, okay.

Navy: I think Notre Dame fans are the only fans that actually give Navy some credit. They are damn good and very tough. This one will be won by the Irish though as Jon Tenuta personally lost Notre Dame the game in 2009.

Tulsa: Tulsa can score points, but I just don't see it happening.

Utah: Ouch. Utah is not a mid-major by any stretch, skill-wise. They are very good every year. Losing to Utah will be embarassing nonetheless.

    Army: See Western Michigan.

Southern California: Maybe teams have figured Pete Carroll out? Or maybe that was the rebuilding year before another dominant stretch over everyone in the country. Notre Dame sure missed an opportunity last year.

EDIT: This is what I chose to do instead of writing a dialogue between Martin Luther King, Jr. and Creon, the ancient king of Thebes. What a glorious waste of time. :D

ND got a guy that essentially was the HC of a good mid - major team. 3rd maybe 4th choice according to most reports. Gone in 4 years.

Sounds an awful lot like what people were predicting in Cahrlie's first season.
