Your BCS Projections After Today

The Orange Bowl doesn't want Stanford. They won't sell half of their tickets. If West Virginia wins the Big East, at least they have a brand name down in Florida from playing in the Big East over the years. Also, because the Fiesta Bowl took it in the ass last year by hosting the 2 mid majors, the Orange may do them a favor and leave them Stanford, who should travel a little better to Arizona than they would Florida. Now if Connecticut wins the Big East, the Orange will take Stanford.

So naive....The bowls are only in it for themselves. Why would the Orange want to give away a better team, and in turn, lose more money, to the Fiesta Bowl? Please don't act stupid...

The Orange Bowl owes the Fiesta Bowl a favor after last year. The Fiesta could have taken Iowa and left the Orange with TCU and Georgia Tech, a game no one in the country would have watched. Someone is keeping track of that favor. And losing Stanford to the Fiesta Bowl isn't a big loss. No one gives a fuck about Stanford nationally, and their fans certainly aren't going to travel in droves all the way across the country.

"Why would the Orange want to give away a better team, and in turn, lose more money, to the Fiesta Bowl?"

Better means how much $$$ the team will bring in, not the better team in the standings. Stanford is easily the worst travelling team of the BCS potentials. They can't even fill up their own stadium.

True. Outside of California nobody gives a rat's ass about Stanford.

Connecticut would probably travel to Florida better than Stanford.

Wisky will move up one spot in the polls because of the BSU loss; however, OSU will move up two spots because of the LSU loss since LSU was wedged between the two teams in both the harris and coaches poll. We will need to see how the computers work out. Here is a clip I found on bcsguru.com where thery actually have OSU jumping Wisky in the BCS:

Rose Bowl: LSU's loss made the Wisconsin-Ohio State race much closer, because the Tigers were wedged between these two teams in the polls. So close that the Guru is calling Ohio State to edge slightly in front. Keep in mind that the Big Ten will send the highest ranked team in the final BCS standings to the Rose Bowl, so this won't be decided until next week even though the Big Ten schedule is done.
can't see this happening. Wisc. puts up 70 against a better than average Northwestern team (granted witout their #1 QB), and they would get leap-frogged by another one loss team ranked below them (that they BEAT convincingly ealrier in the year!)?? If that happened and I was a Wisc fan., I'd be suicidal/homicidal! It would definitley contribute to fixing this whole BCS mess tho I guess.

I don't believe it. OSU's win helps out Wisky, OSU's bigger wins vs Iowa and Miami, both of those teams lost. I think OSU makes up a bit of ground vs Wisky in the comp polls, but not enough to pass them.
