Is Notre Dame being serious?

Notable and immensely wealthy are two different things. I know very many successful people from both schools. This conversation is getting borderline ridiculous.

By the way, it's hilarious we haven't brought up that NOTRE DAME is a better and more prestigious university than all of the ones we are talking about. :D

    wonder why that is??

    Denison undergrad enrollment: 2,100
    OSU undergrad enrollment: 39,000
If it's such a great college, why not expand? Clearly, there isn't enough demand to encourage spending the money to expand the University, so they can meddle in mediocrity for all I care.

I don't mean to demean other colleges, but if you expect to come on here and try to say Dennison of all places is better than Ohio State, you're going to get the STOMP, and you can take that to the bank.

And seriously, I didn't know Dennison even existed until my freshman year of college when one of my friends friends said he was transferring to Ohio State from there.

    Very true.

However, I don't see many Dennison grads leading America to excellence...

Maybe you hadn't heard of Denison because you had been spelling it wrong your entire life.

You probably didn't know it existed because you'd been googling the wrong name; it's Denison, not Dennison.

And considering they have an acceptance rate of 37%, I'd say there is demand.

Pretty easy to have a low acceptance rate when you can only take 600 students a year, if that. Most people probably just apply there to have a backup school, and don't give a shit if they are accepted or not. And obviously, there isn't enough demand to EXPAND, not saying there is no demand. I mean look at Ohio State, there is so much demand they are buying HOTELS to try to service the students, while at the same time increasing academic standards.

And why the hell would I google Denison? Does it matter? The school is worthless to me and if any of my kids happen to want to attend there I'll tell them NO, because I'd rather not have them working at McDonalds the rest of their life.

This, perhaps more than anything else you ever typed, exemplifies just how dumb you are.

...and you can take that to the bank.

You guys are all idiots and sleeper has you wrapped around his finger.

This thread is about Notre Dame thinking they're too good for a subpar bowl, when in fact, their record indicates that's all they're good for...

Let's be real here, Notre Dame doesn't want to go to a bowl to face the humiliation that they MAY lose in this said bowl and finish with a 6-7 record...

Notre Dame is no longer (and hasn't been in YEARS) a college power. I honestly don't care if Notre Dame is ever good again. The only team I care about is The Ohio State Buckeyes...

If what you say is true.....they would not have accepted their invite to the Hawaii Bowl last season. Let's see....subpar Bowl-CHECK, opportunity to face humiliation if they lost in subpar Bowl and end up 6-7-CHECK. Yep, if that fear and arrogance was there....they would not have went to the Hawaii Bowl last year.

I was watching sports center and they had an interview on with Swarbrick and he sounded like they were leaning more towards not playing in a bowl game this year. He stated that the transition they're going through makes it tough but he did not rule a bowl game out. We stiil have to wait and see.

All in all, it doesn't really matter, in the long run, where you go to undergrad.

Graduate school is where it is.

You work hard and study and get a good education, no matter where you go, and you're going to be successful. I'm not talking about connections, or notoriety, or anything of the like. I'm not talking about national prestige, anymore.

I know countless kids who went to "sub-par" universities for undergrad and then went on to graduate school at very well-respected institutions.

I.E. my friend went to Grand Valley State for undergrad, and proceeded to go to the Divinity School at Harvard, and then back to Michigan to do doctoral work at the University of Michigan.

And, in my case, i went from undergrad at just a "good" school to graduate school at a "very good" school. Once you've got the graduate degree, doesn't really matter where you went to undergrad.

    You're smart, you'll be successful.

And you can take that to the bank.
