Tailgating at OSU - Michigan
-
nwofbfanGoing to take this one in. What is the best day of game surface parking lot for tailgating? And, what time should I plan on getting there to get a spot? I have heard the Ag lot is good.
-
TiernanThe new hot spot for public parking is the new Tuttle & Lane parking garage. Its $15 and you are a good 5 iron from the stadium. I think they said they will open at 6am on Sat.
-
nwofbfanI heard about that new garage but I just didn't think there would be much tailgating there since it's a parking garage.
-
TiernanIt is what you make it. We have a fairly large contingency that travels together in 3 vehicles. But as far as alot of other people tailgating you are correct, not too many. But you are much closer to VC and River Watch parties too.

I typically head to one of those two places and over pay for beer. The scenery always makes up for it. -
vball10set^^^plus a lot less chance of spending the game in lockup

nwofbfanThey still have the Riverwatch Party? For some reason I thought they stopped having that.

vball10setthey stopped Hineygate, but Riverwatch is still going strong

It's not the same, but it's better than nothing. -
nwofbfanWhat time do the day of game lots open Saturday?
-
krambmanI used to always park in the Fawcett Center/Longaberger lot. It was the closest public lot to the stadium, great spot to tailgate, and there were nice public bathrooms inside the Longaberger building. I believe that they made it a pass lot this year and no longer a public lot, so I have no idea where I'd park to tailgate now.

wildcats20I can't remember for the life of me what building it was, but we parked in a lot off Lane and Fyffe for the Miami game. It was a pretty good time for sure.

wildcats20It was Vivian Hall.
