Gonzaga is Not Very Good

  I've watched the Zags twice and , unfortunately, they are not a very good basketball team. PG play is poor and they don't have enough athletes to compete with top 15 teams. Steven Gray has been ok, but Elias Harris, who is projected by some to be a 1st round selection in the 2011 draft, has been a no-show.

  They can afford to not be very good now, because once they get into conference play they will dominate.

  Lost to a possible #1 seed and a possible top 8 seed (stretch, with SDSU, more likely around a 10/11). They may not be as good as years before, but this is still a good basketball team.

  SDSU is the 23rd ranked team in the nation, I think they'll do better than a 10/11 seed.

  My assessment was not based on who they lost to. It was based on why they lost and the flaws that were exposed.This team has a very average point guard and very average perimeter athletes.They were pounded on the boards in both of their losses and they haven't defended the 3-point line.
  
  I have no doubt that the Zags will compete for the conference crown, they always do, but this team is not very good.

  They should, but Gonzaga (who was proven) was the #3 ranked team in the nation and got seeded as like a 7 that year or something. I think SDSU is a very good team, but they dont schedule like Gonzaga, so the RPI will suffer along with the SOS. I think the BEST they can hope for this year is the 8-9 game.
