jordo212000Buckeye fans were calling in the week saying they hoped Rich Rod got fired because they hated him, and the Torg was calling everybody "dopes" haha. He was like why do you want him fired? He has zero chance of ever beating us!

vball10setjust another victory over tsun--I LOVE IT....it sure is great to be a Buckeye!!!!

Hb31187Lol i hate when ppl say "big ten football" like the big 10 plays different from all the conferences in the country
-
Mr. 300Congrats to the seniors who go undefeated against TSUN. JT continues to press home how important this game is on the schedule, and with the classes he has coming in next year and the year after that, I don't see it changing much no matter who Michigan hires.

Have you watched a Pac-10 game? You telling me Oregon-Zona and UCLA-ASU last night weren't played a bit different than today's Big 10 games? Its a bit different to play a game in November in the desert and playing where you might get snow.
To win in the Big 10 you need to to have a strong defense. OSU has done it - 6 years in a row, but even before then it wasn't as if a team could get by with offense only. Probably the closest was Purdue in 2000. -
hoops23Big Ten football is defense and running the football.
In this climate, you need that. -

Is this a serious post? -

Yes.
The big 10 doesnt play a different brand of football from rest of the nation really. Theres all different types of offenses in the big 10, its not double tight sets and running the ball down the opponents throats anymore -
Hb31187
Yes a strong defense, I agree with that which is why i want RR to stay and GR gone with a new defensive scheme(if i could have it my way). I was refering more to the how ppl think the big 10 offenses still play old school smash mouth football the entire gameManhattan Buckeye;577744 wrote:Have you watched a Pac-10 game? And this whole it may snow thing is SO overrated. Itll def get cold, but please theres a chance for it to snow 1 maybe 2 games out of every year. Its not like its snowing constantly in the big 10 games -

Tell that to Wisconsin. -

Look who has won the last 6 Big Ten Titles. They run the football and have a great defense. Look at Wisconsin and Michigan State, run the footbal and have good defense. The last team to win the Big 10 title who runs the spread was Purdue and Northwestern in 2000. -

I gotta be honest, why a UM fan would want to keep RR, is beyond me. You saw today what a good defense will do to that offense. And although the finger is on Robinson, its RR who hired him, AND who does recruiting as well as run the program. He has been nothign short of an embarressment to a a storied program. His teams are honestly NO better then they were last year. More wins, yes. But TEAM is no better. If he were my coach, I would be begging for him to get the boot. Especially when a guy like Harbaugh is out there waiting on a call possibly. RR is out of his element. -

Nobody is talking about snow. But if you think you can run a spread offense and pass the ball around as efficiently in 30 degree weather as you can in 75 degree weather, you are crazy. -

Michigan runs the ball, just as good if not better than any team in the big 10 so idk where you're going with that. Defense is the only thing missing -

Lol thats true, thats the only team that really does that thoughcentralbucksfan;577798 wrote:Tell that to Wisconsin. -

The person i quoted was talking about snow. And the type of spread michigan runs is a zone read. So its more of an emphasis on the run than the pass, its not like a texas tech system -

Michigan had 93 yards in the second half, so there is a lot more than defense missing. How about special teams as well. FG kicking is atrocious as is the punting game for UM. UM has a lot of problems and they need to get rid of Rich Rod if they expect to get competitive in the Big 10 again. -

I said it "could" snow, and even if it doesn't you are dealing with midwestern weather, not the desert, Cali and the pacific northwest. -

Special teams makes me wanna gag true, forgot about that. They need a new defensive scheme and special teams if they wanna be competitive. -

Chad Henne is a joke -
FatHobbitI think not having a kicking game really hurt the wolverines today. Several times I think they could have kicked fgs but went for it instead and it made them look a lot worse than they really were. The wheels really seemed to come off in the 2nd half though. They have a long way to go to get back to where they used to be, let alone where they wanted to be when they pushed Lloyd out.

Spread obviously doesn't work against a good defense...case in point today, last year, and the year before. -
Hb31187You're right, a spread offense never works against a good defense....smh I hope you arent serious with that
