Illinois/Northwestern headed in the same direction.

This game could really be interesting. Wonder how much longer this game will take.

SHouldn't take much longer at all. There are usually tv timeouts on changes of possession anyway. Just a pain to walk 30-50 yards after each punt/turnover. I don't think the chains even need to get involved unless there's a turnover really close to the endzone and the few inches actually matter.

Gee, thanks for posting this breaking news. It isn't like we've been discussing it all afternoon on the "GameDay at Wrigley" thread or anything.

So what happens if you intercept a pass and try to run it back?
  • karen lotz
They run to the 50 yard line, touch it, and then turn around and run the other way.

    That sounds reasonable.

I was worried that they might play with an awful "no take backs on an air ball" type rule and say if the pass wasn't deflected before being picked the defender could just sprint to the same end zone the offense was going to without having to take it back.

here are some other rules that have been proposed for tomorrow:

The field magically spins around like in the video games.

In other news, the Big Ten is considering making all conference basketball games half court, make-it take-it to 21 by ones.

Laughed really hard at that. Well done.

Some of those are hilarious. I added a few of my own.

Two positive completions is a first down.

You have to call "check on ball" when huddling and yell "shotgun" when starting the play behind the line - no snap.

Players switch teams to keep it even as people leave. Game over when kid who owns ball has to leave for dinner.

    I just added:
The captains have to run out and hold the field after lunch. If the girls get there first the game is in the parking lot.
    Loser walks after Touchdowns.

    Don't forget 5 count blitzes.

Losers walk after touchdowns is funny because it's actually true in this game.

Fitzgerald decided not to come because he built a sweet ramp in his back yard and he's jumping his bike.

If too many people go home we'll just play "smear the queer."

No instant replay today. With any disputed plays they just replay the down.

They decided they aren't going to play NW vs. Illinois today. The guy who brings the ball and best player pick teams.
  • krambman
They will be playing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" for the fourth quarter stretch after the end of the third qtr.
  • sherm03
When both teams are fighting for these fumbles, possession is granted to the team that yells "Firsts!" before the other.
  • karen lotz
Persa's injury is a blow to both teams. He was supposed to be all time QB today. Now both teams will have to use some fat unathletic kid.

Got to see the pick-six. I now have no interest in this game.

    LOL.
  • karen lotz
Well at least the fans in the right field bleachers got to see some action.

I keep flipping over to this game during commercials of the OSU game and I feel like NW and Illinois should be wearing throwbacks.
