They'd have to go undefeated, win a BCS Bowl Game, and have their star player purpose to his g/f after the game first.enigmaax;554069 wrote:Yeah, I can't wait til they go undefeated in the WAC and everyone complains about how they should be in the national title game. -
Little DannyThere's going to be a number of I-AA schools make the move in the next few years. Montana is expected to get an invite to the WAC as well. Also, look for Delaware, Villanova, UMASS, Appy State and some others to step up as well in various conferences (ie. MAC, Sunbelt, C-USA, Nova to the BE).
I wouldn't laugh at those Texas schools. In a few years, they are going to be programs on the rise. They play in large markets, are in fertile recruiting territory, a part of the country with a growing population and they already have a pretty good size alumni base. -
karen lotzI thought I read that Montana would have been officially invited to join the WAC now but wished to remain FCS.
Edit: FCS, not FBS... -

I read that on ESPN today as well. They thought it was best for them to stay I-AA. I think that they could possibly go if Montana State made the move as well because the AD said they really wanted to keep the cross state rivalry going. It would look bad for ANY I-A school to have a rival I-AA school. -
Little DannyHot off the presses today... I stand corrected about Montana. Does not mean the others teams will not make a move though. They are putting a lot of $$ into their football programs as of late.

redfalconThere has been speculation for years about Montana making the move, and I bet they will eventually, but they want Montana State to come as well. Watch for the MWC to steal at least one more team from the WAC sometime in the next couple of years, and then we will see what happens.

Not now. We've already established that the WAC is a viable conference slate for national championship contenders. -

What D1 team would hire this guy? He had the most talented team, possibly in NCAA history, and couldn't pull off a win against the Bucks. I love my Bucks, but they had no business beating that loaded Miami team. -

I don't know whether he's that good or not, but damn man, nobody wins all the time. You can't judge a guy on one game - and that Buckeye team (no, I'm not a fan) wasn't exactly a slouch...saying they had "no business" beating Miami is a stretch. -
0311sdpThe new WAC in 2012 won't be much better than the Sunbelt or the Mid American

Miami was favored by 14. That's 2 touchdowns. -

j_crazythis is why non AQ schools have no beef. and also why i have a beef with the big east getting an AQ bid.

Big deal. Guys who predicted the score differential to get people to bet were wrong. Ohio State was undefeated. How many draft picks of their own came off that team? It was an upset, but it wasn't like a craphole team beat a juggernaut. One undefeated team beat another undefeated team - if you thought OSU had "no business" beating them, you apparently feel that they shouldn't have played at all.
