I Just Can't Stand LSU

  • Ironman92
again last night they were down 3 at their own 48 with 31 seconds remaining on 2nd down and they throw a short pass, receiver gains 8 yards and his knee CLEARLY goes down way before he gets the ball barely out of bounds and the ref calls him out of bounds and the clock stops on 26 seconds and 2 yards short of a 1st down. LSU had no timeouts and would have been down to no more than 12-14 seconds and on the 44 yard line with a 3rd down an 2....that's with spiking the ball immediately...calling any kind of play and they would've been well under 10 seconds.

They end up running 3 more plays and kicking the OT forcing 41 yd FG......they should've been about the 44 yard line with 1 play to the sideline or for a 1st down and then spike for a much longer FG.

    I really don't like them.

so let me see if i understand here, you detail a mistake made by the officiating crew in last nights game, declare that lsu took advantage of this referees mistake and then conclude that you "hate LSU" because of them capitalizing on this officials mistake?

    ...makes perfect sense.

    Bingo.......

And bad officiating has been happening all year in the SEC.

Officiating in the SEC has been turrrrible....

Tell Arkansas's kicker to make a chippy to go to the 2nd OT and this discussion isn't happening

I don't really care all that much for LSU either, but not because the refs botched a call in a game. That stuff happens; it sucks for Arkansas, but chances are Arkansas has won a game or two in their history where a call went their way instead of the other way...I just don't really like Miles' personality. He reminds me too much of Weis in the way he comes off sometimes, and he has trouble producing without great athletes.

I can't speak for Ironman92, but I would say he dislikes LSU because they seem to catch some lucky breaks most of the time. In the last few years, LSU has won some tight games with miraculous plays. Miles has gambled quite a bit, going against conventional wisdom, and most times it turns out for the best. They also seem to benefit from missed calls like these, but that's just something that happens.

I'm with Red_Skin_Pride. I think Miles' personality makes a lot of people dislike LSU. The whole clock management/spike deal against Ole Miss, followed by him denying that he called for a spike when he actually did, makes people a little sour toward him.

I think that lucky streak started on the Hail Mary @ Kentucky....

    Fortunately Ironman02 understands

Yes, the officials caused it....but they seem to get their share of ridiculous fortunes

    OT should've never happened
