USA Today Coaches Poll Top 25 11/29

thedynasty1998Iowa is actually a pretty solid team, so I should give them credit. Plus they beat Penn State. And showed a lot of fight in their game against OSU. Plus, didn't they have a big win in their bowl game last year?
-
devil1197Iowa is solid and would only have 1 loss imo to Ohio State. They wouldn't have been beaten by NW.
Iowa will probably end up playing a TCU or Boise State team out in the Fiesta Bowl depending on how things shake out.
PSU would be a good team to send to the Capital One Bowl against 9-3 LSU. -

They beat South Carolina (by something like 3 TDs) for the Big Ten's only bowl win.thedynasty1998 wrote: Iowa is actually a pretty solid team, so I should give them credit. Plus they beat Penn State. My guess is that Penn State will get an at-large berth over Iowa. I think Iowa deserves it more, but don't think it'll happen that way.devil1197 wrote: Iowa is solid and would only have 1 loss imo to Ohio State. They wouldn't have been beaten by NW.

devil1197I think the Fiesta Bowl likes Iowa, they said they would be very happy to take them if possible.

Cleveland BuckMost years they might take Iowa and be happy because Iowa will sell tickets, but if they get stuck with Boise State this year, they are going to want someone to face them who will sell tickets put rear ends in front of the TV, and Penn State is more likely to do that.

What do you mean no one likes you? I am not even disagreeing with you, I am just wondering who you think should be ahead of Penn St. and Iowa. You still haven't answered the question, all you have said is that they shouldn't be in the top ten. You even claimed they shouldn't be in the top 20. Who is better that is not ranked ahead of them?thedynasty1998 wrote: Why doesn't anyone like me? Because I think the Big 10 is terrible? How can you say any different? Sorry I'm not a homer.
I understand the voting in terms of, if Team A has two loses and Team B has three loses, Team A is better.
I just have a hard time believing that Penn State and Iowa are "Top 10 teams". Tell me what in the game against Penn State made you think of them as a top 10 team.
So again, who should be ahead of them and why? -
thedynasty1998vball said no one likes me. I was asking him.
I think the logic in the polls is, if one team has more loses than anyother, the team with less loses is better. Because of only have two loses is why Penn State and Iowa are where they are at.
But if you were to watch them play without knowing their record, I don't see what would make you think they were a top 10 team. Who has Penn State beat this year?
As for who I think is probably better than Penn State and Iowa? IMO, I'd say:
Georgia Tech, Miami, Stanford, Pittsburgh, Cal, LSU and possibly Oregan State.
I really don't know if those teams are better or not, but when watching those teams play, you can usually pick something out that impresses you. I just don't get that from Iowa and Penn State. -
darbypitcher22that South Carolina team was pretty brutal.
I'll give you Georgia Tech, Stanford, and LSU as being better than Penn State and Iowa right now.
Have a hard time arguing for Miami, Cal(without Jahvid Best) and Pitt -

Out of the teams you listed that are better than Iowa and PSU I agree with LSU, Georgia Tech (even though they lost to Georgia) and I think you could add Virginia Tech. Everyone else is a toss up because they have played no better than Iowa or PSU.thedynasty1998 wrote: vball said no one likes me. I was asking him.

Miami, Stanford, Pittsburgh, Cal, and Oregan State I think are all as good as Iowa and PSU, but they haven't done so much to warrant being ranked ahead of them. Cal has been blown out this season and hasn't been all that impressive. -
thedynasty1998I agree with you. It's obviously an argument one could make for any of those teams. I guess it's the "solid" teams that get overlooked because they are not flashy. I'm hoping the Big 10 has a great bowl season and I'll be rooting for every Big 10 team, but until they prove themselves as a solid conference, I'm skeptical.
