No I don't think he did make the jump. And I think all of us Duke/UNC or just college basketball fans in general are glad he didnt come here. That guy was as bad as Capone.Heelz;544628 wrote:Whatever happend to Rowdy anyway did he not make the jump? If you bring out 82-50 can I bring out 130 > 99 ?
I also don't have a problem with Barnes being on there I just find it crazy that Nolan Smith is not. -

Your right, even as a huge tarheel fan I used to hate reading his posts he made UNC fans look bad.
Honestly I think we will see alot more freshmen on this list in the future the media evey year out does themselves with hyping up players.....I'm just glad the first freshmen was a tarheel. -
thedynasty1998I also have no problem with a freshman on it. The fact is that guys don't stay in college very long, and the one's that do are usually the one's not good enough for a jump to the NBA.
Barnes is actually the only guy on the 1st team that I would consider a no brainer. -
reclegend22Heelz:
No, I don't think rowdy ever came over here. Can't say I'm upset over it. That contraceptive measure was far and away the biggest ass with whom I've ever conversed. No two ways around that. I'd hope he's dead, but that'd be a bit melodramatic, I think. Nah, I hope he locked eyes with a lorry.
Over the last 25 years (because quarter-century measuring sticks are a pretty common base point from which to start an argument -- especially one of actual relevance that isn't held together by the lynchpin of a phantom banner won on the year of Woodrow Wilson's death, 1924), Duke has the edge, specifically in the games (championships) that count. Just like 87,543 is greater than 36, 4 is greater than 3, each and every time. But if we are speaking strictly all-time, whose the all-time ACC champ? Duke 18, Carolina 17. I'd argue the import of that goes quite a long way -- and we're only one national championship back. This could be the year that changes.
I always give UNC respect where it is due, though, and the program has done a lot of very impressive things, some of which are more impressive than Duke. And vice versa. -
HeelzRec,
I agree that some things the Dook does are more impressive UNC and vice versa, I always give credit where its due because I am a basketball fan first and I can't deny the accomplishments of Duke. Thats what makes the rivalry so great and amazing to watch (although UNC had a less than stellar year). I just brought up the 130 -99 thing to see what you would say haha.
And no I don't think anyone would miss Rowdy if he fell off the face of the planet. -
reclegend22No, I know. I like the banter
Can't wait for Nov. 14th (Duke's start) and college basketball in general! I've been going crazy the last few weeks waiting. -

Makes sense. He's accomplished a lot more at the collegiate level than the other four guys have. -
wildcats20All American teams are based on the best players in the country. I don't think anyone can doubt that Barnes is one of the top players in the country unless they are THAT biased. It has nothing to do with what you have "proved", especially the preseason team.

ironman02Carolina and Duke fans can present the numbers associated with the rivalry in several different ways, simply depending on which team they support. The Heels have the advantage in some areas (head-to-head wins, overall national titles) and the Blue Devils also have their advantages (ACC Championships, national titles in the last 25 years), but the fact remains that it's the greatest rivalry in basketball because both programs are simply outstanding. Eight miles away from each other, and two of the greatest basketball programs in the history of the game. I despise Duke with every fiber of my being, but I do respect them.
When looking at this season, Duke is definitely the favorite to repeat and win the program's fifth national championship. However, it won't be an easy task, and I'm sure all the Duke fans are aware of that. Carolina is still on the way back up after a dismal season a year ago, but I think they could be a dangerous team. I'll probably be skeptical of the Heels until I see them play some solid basketball, but the talent is there to have a Top 10 team, especially if the freshmen live up to their billing. I think Barnes is the real deal...hopefully he proves me, and the rest of those who have a lot of confidence in his ability, to be correct.
