If Notre Dame hires a head coach who gets the job done....
-
athlete37btw, on Ohio State's last drive they had a 3rd and 9 from their own 16 only up 7 with a few minutes left. I don't think any of you at that point thought the game was for certain, especially after Notre Dame had just completed a 13 play 80 yard touchdown drive on your boys. And after that 3rd and 9 conversion, they managed -1 yard on the next two plays. I would imagine none of you thought it was for certain over with 3rd and 11 from your own 25...

I responded to this thread before you were on here. You have not been on here in days? You were probably spending thanksgiving with Te'o, huh?athlete37 wrote: oh hey dwc, didn't expect to see you on a ND thread responding within 12 minutes of my first posts in days...
BTW, this thread was addressed to non-ND fans smart guy. I fall into that category. I responded in kind. -
athlete37Okay, what about all the other ND threads?? Are those addressed to non-ND fans?

I didn't know you had to be a fan of a certain team to access certain threads. It's the college football thread. If I see a thread has alot of action, I find it interesting and will interject my opinion(s) into it.athlete37 wrote: Okay, what about all the other ND threads?? Are those addressed to non-ND fans?
You have a problem with that, I don't know what to tell you. -
athlete37You're dancing around here, I said I didn't expect to see you on an ND thread, whether it was addressed to non-ND fans or not. I guarentee you were one of those people who was jealous of ND during the Holtz era and have been bitter about it and now are looking to for some laughs while ND's down. Join the club dude, but get ready to be jealous again

I'm dancing? No, you just can't find another way to attempt to argue with me. You have no grounds.athlete37 wrote: You're dancing around here, I said I didn't expect to see you on an ND thread, whether it was addressed to non-ND fans or not. Also, as far as your comment of my jealousy during the Holtz era, I already stated on another thread that I admired the success that Holtz and ND had in the early 90's and before that. Again, you fail at trying to take a jab at me. Was or am I bitter? No, I actually rooted for them then, except when they played OSU. But now I love watching ND lose because SOME fans (like you) still like to run your mouthes and can't admit that your team is second tier and has been for more than a decade.
If ND starts to win again (and if they do it will be at least 5 years away) I won't care. It won't effect me at all. -
athlete37When have I ever said Notre Dame is an elite team? You're a joke. I'm not arguing with you but it seems you have more interest in Notre Dame than Ohio State. You come on ND threads to argue with ND fans, not vice versa. We aren't running our mouths on Ohio State threads, we're talking about Notre Dame football. Get over yourself

Not 5 minutes ago you said this. Again, what grounds can you possibly have to state that I will be jealous again? You are a cocky fan, nothing else. Your team's program is in turmoil and have been for some time. No coach, no identity.athlete37 wrote: Join the club dude, but get ready to be jealous again
Yea, I heard how great ND was going to be when Weis was hired, we have seen how that worked out. I don't think you should make statements like that (insinuating ND will make me jealous because they will be good again) until they actually start doing well.
And if that day comes, I won't care. If ND starts winning meaningful games and competing for BCS titles, good for them; it won't bother me at all and at least all your cocky posts will be supported by a successful team. Until then, your team is not worthy of any praise and you should reflect that in your posts. -

Says the guy that went back and read and counted through all my posts. LOL.athlete37 wrote: Of your last 22 posts, 16 of them are on ND threads, get a life
As I stated, I will post on whetever thread I choose if it peaks my interest. My interest is college football, so I will read about threads relating to the hot stories. ND's coaching issues are popular right now. OSU has ended their regular season, there isn't much to talk about with them. -
athlete37Okay clown, I'm not a 30 year old stalking some other teams threads. I'm glad Ohio State has had some success lately, they will never come close to amounting to all of ND's all-time success. And the grounds I have for them being good again is recruiting is there, all we need is a coach. ND has won 11 NC's and will be bringing in a coach with 114 wins over a decade, I'm sure that's more than Tressel
-
The EqualizerND right now is in a similar situation that many storied programs have found themselves in, for instance OSU in the 80s/90s. Their best years were a decade and a half behind them, their coach(es) (especially Cooper) couldn't get them back to their glory, fans were angry, they were losing constantly to their main rival(s). Then to their credit they hired the right guy at the right time and he put them back on track. That's all I want, and that's all any of my ND friends want. It's embarrassing to lose to navy, uconn, syracuse, etc. If we get someone like Stoops who can recruit, stop the bleeding of losing to inferior teams and give us a fighting chance against our rivals (USC, Michigan, BC, etc) I'll be thrilled. I don't care what he's done his last several BCS bowls, I don't care what his record in the NC title game is, I'll be fuckin thrilled to get back into contention for those games on a regular basis.

Well we have something in common, I'm not 30 years old either. I also think all ND needs is a coach to be good again. I have been stating that all season. Not sure what you are getting at. You are just some college kid that is trying to keep arguing when there is really nothing to argue about. I agree with you, ND gets a good coach, they will be good. You're the only one arguing here.athlete37 wrote: Okay clown, I'm not a 30 year old stalking some other teams threads. Also, Stoops doesn't have a contract yet and although he does have more wins than Tressel, he's been coaching at this level a few seasons longer. They are pretty even except that Tressel has more BCS wins. Other than that, they're about dead even.
If ND does get Stoops good for ND. Should help them get back to the top. -

steel_curtainStoops should be announced in the next couple days.

I was never sold on Charlie Weis when they first hired him. If they manage to get Stoops, I think he will turn the program around within 4 years. He'll have ND back on top before Rich Rod ever has Michigan back on top IMO.steel_curtain wrote: Stoops should be announced in the next couple days. -

For the second time, there was a flag for a block in the back on the "fumble" return. ND would have had the ball at their own 10 yard line. So, no, it would not have been 27-20.rock_knutne wrote:
Bingo, that's the point I'm trying to make. It's 27-20 at that point and the momentum would have taken a huge swing in ND favor.steel_curtain wrote: How about when they overturned Gonzo's obviosu fumble when it was 27-20. -

The score at the time that play happened was 21-13! -
dwccrewLet's just drop it. That game is from 5 seasons ago and guess what......Ohio State won the game. The score was 34-20. Notre Dame outgained OSU. None of it matters at this point in time. None of the players that played in that game are still playing college ball.
