Manhattan BuckeyeBetween performance and results, McCoy will likely win and he'd get my vote. There are many players that deserve consideration.

ironman02After tonight, I'm really torn between McCoy and Gerhart. I know that Notre Dame's defense isn't the best unit, but Gerhart was really impressive. He has produced all season, putting up unbelievable numbers in a good conference. Just a tough kid who can really pound the rock. That said, I'm gonna go with this...
1. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
2. Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
3. Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
4. Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
5. Case Keenum, QB, Houston
Spiller has had a great season, so he's right there around the # 5 spot for me, along with Kellen Moore.
If McCoy has a good game against Nebraska, I think he wins it. If he struggles and Tebow or Ingram have great games in the SEC Championship, they could make a run at it. -
DaBrowns41I personally think that Gerhart has been more valuable to his team than McCoy. McCoy still has a very solid OL and excellent play makers. Gerhart does a TON on his own. He'll run over you, run around you, he'll catch, he'll block. He's been so valuable.
But because Stanford isn't undefeated, he won't get more than a couple first place votes.
I would also give Quizz Rodgers a vote as well. He's got 19 rushing TD's, over 1300 yards, and a 5.5 YPC average, and over 400 yards receiving with a TD. Shoot, he even has a passing TD. He's been the offense for Oregon State. -
ironman02DaBrowns41,
You're right, Quizz has had a great season. I think he should get some consideration, but the media never mentions him at all. Maybe a big game against Oregon on Thursday could move him into the spotlight. -
darbypitcher22Quizz Rodgers, hadn't even thought about him. He has had a great year, and he does it quietly for Oregon State

I know I'm rooting for him. He's a special player, much like Gerhart, but a completely different style of back.ironman02 wrote: DaBrowns41,

I don't know. I'm just not convinced by McCoy.
I think McCoy's year was last year when he had almost 9 yards per attempt, more yardage, more TD's, and less INT's.
He's down to 7.7 YPA (still good), with one more INT and less TD's. I know he has another game left, but still.
When I look at the Heisman, I look at it as the best player in the nation, and the most valuable player to his team, which is why I hate how the voters always look at the teams record, because I guarantee if Oregon State and Stanford had better defenses and won more football games, they'd be all over Quizz and Gerhart. -
gerb131Gotta be McCoy followed by Gerhart then whoever you want to put there. Spiller/Tebow/Ingram.
-
darbypitcher22Quizz is a straight scat back, the shifty kind I'd like to have in my offense if I was running the spread.
-
ytownfootballMcCoy was leading (imo) going into this weekend and was further ahead after it.

2kool4skoolI think it's going to McCoy, with Gerhart 2nd and Tebow 3rd. Ingram will probably get an invite to New York as well but isn't really in contention any more.
I'm not sure when the ballots are due, but if Tebow would have an absurd game against Alabama and McCoy had a weak one or lost against Nebraska, then Tebow could still win it. -

Only reason I have Tebow ahead of Ingram is the poor game Ingram had against Auburn and all the press that is given to Tebow. If they give it to Tebow it will be a joke. -

I don't really care who wins honestly, both are deserving. -

It is still going to be decided on the final weekend when Alabama and Florida play in the SEC Championship and Texas-Nebraska play in the Big 12 Championship -
