I meant Alabama not Oklahoma.. Oklahoma should be around #11 or #12.

I just think Utah would rock Michigan St .. If anything I would switch Missouri to #5 and put Utah at #6 and Mich St at #7

with that logic, South Carolina should be ranked ahead of Alabama?

No because SC has lost twice
  • OQB
Oregon moves to #1, and for the 4th week in a row the #1 team travels to a dangerous opponent and loses.

One day you will understand.. I'm not sure how old you are, but after more and more years of being in existence you see things different and don't have to be so ignorant.

When #1 Alabama plays #19 ranked South Carolina, pollsters (who many still believed the 2009 NCAA Champions were the best team in the nation, had dropped them down not quite far enough)

As many of the pollsters saw #19 South Carolina's win as a GREAT win, it's hard to justify them jumping 6-8 other teams who also had victories that same week.

As some pollsters may not of had South Carolina jump certain other winning teams, and certainly didn't have Alabama falling to "lets say #15" -- to keep them under SC its bound to happen kiddo.
  • Pick6
umm okay. When OSU got beat, they were #1 and Wisconsin was 18 in atleast one poll. So that is comparable to the difference between Bama and USC. USC also beat Bama more than Wisconsin beat OSU (granted it was only 1 point more). Your reasoning makes no sense. South Carolina knocks off the defending national champions, and you say they arent justified to jump teams because teams infront of them won as well? Yet it is ok for Wisconsin to jump teams after beating OSU even though teams they jumped won that week as well? You are contradicting yourself.

And by the way..im 19 and im not sure what my age has to do with this. I've played/followed football my whole life, im pretty sure I have a pretty good understanding of the game
  • rydawg5
Let me respond to your last point first, I don't care if you were a 19 year old starting quarterback for the Boise St. Broncos, you still don't magically have the experience of seeing how polls fluctuate like this from year to year to gain the knowledge that it take to understand why 1 team does 1 thing and 1 team does another.

Humans are voting on this (For AP and coaches)

So for better understanding, ask yourself these questions...

When Alabama was number 1, were they the most unanimous? YES
When Alabama was number 1, did they just come off of having 2 really good quality wins? YES
When Alabama was number 1, did most voters feel they were way better than any other team? YES
WHen OSU was number 1 was it as unanimous? NO
When OSU was number 1 did they come off huge quality wins? NO (just Miami)

I dont know what else to tell you.. its happens sometimes.
