Bama's backfield would tear them up and would control the clock. Oregon is like Oklahoma 2 years ago. Everyone thought they were awesome and I knew they would get exposed (jj huddle days). OK scored 60 + in many games and scored 14 against UF. OSU had an amazing offense (no offense towards bucks fans) and a great defense stopped them. Oklahoma had a high scoring offense in 2003 and got beat by LSU's defense. Oregon was big and bad last year, and OSU took them to the woodshed. Wait until Oregon plays a "real" team.
This Oregon team has defense as well though, its not just high scoring

Yeah, the type of defense that gives up 600 yards in one game to ASU. Nice try though.

When your offense scores every 3 seconds your defense is gonna be on the field OFTEN thus inflating the yards they give up a game....

If Vegas would have laid out a Oregon -45, do you think anyone would have bit?

There's no excuse for 600 yards. Period. As I said, put a team that's successful running the ball who wastes the clock...........Oregon wont be scoring nearly as much. Has Oregon played a good defense this year?

Whod they give up 600 to? i see 500 to stanford
  • Hb31187
And when your defense is on the field SOOOO often yards really cant be used to gauge how good the defense is. They've given up 23 points all year in the 2nd half and 7 points int he 4th quarter(that was tonight). Most, actually almost ALL defenses in the country would give up a lot of yards if they were on the field that often.

I already posted above to who........ASU, and I gave a link.

Oregon = FRAUD. I can think of roughly 8 teams that would beat Oregon.

    Please list the 8.

Is the Pac 10 the "new" SEC? God I hate those bassturds.

As a Michigan fan, I WISH we ran at that tempo. We seem slow compared to that.

Oregon is the real deal, and they're deserving at #1. UCLA isn't a bad team and has a decent defense (see, e.g., Texas and Houston). Oregon absolutely destroyed UCLA.

Very impressive last night! I don't know if they are the best team in the country, but they are certainly on the short list.

Good defense beats good offense more times that not. Oregon will lose a game this year imo

    +1

The offense is much better and more complex than last years. Plus, the defense is faster in the LB and secondary. The dline is their weakness. But, if they do play a running team that can score or an offense like say USC, it could give them a running.

But, honestly, what defense could shut them totally down?

Iunno, maybe ASU is pretty good?

What was the result of the Arizona State/Oregon game? Did those yards add up to extra points?

    ASU isnt ranked are they?

They scored 31 and it must of kept Oregon off the field a good amount. Oregon only won by 11. Imagine if Oregon played a team that was better than ASU. ASU doesnt have a good defense either. Oregon='s Oklahoma of years past. Book it. I was right on Oklahoma 2 years ago and no one believed me.

I love watching that Oregon offense...it is so efficient, and perfectly executed. This is the Duck's year!

Nope, but that will happen when you nearly lose to Wisconsin, Oregon and Oregon St. in three straight weeks. Just because they are not ranked, does not mean they are not a solid team.

Oregon's defense is good enough to stop the bleeding to where their offense will win the game. Put them in a game with a good defense and Oregon may still score points, but we don;t know. I still say this offense is better than last years, by a lot.

I agree with this. Been there, done that with these types of offenses....for several years. Oregon deserves to be ranked right where they are (they even have a case for #1). But I'm not going to be shocked at all if/when they lose a game.

When someone says, you're going to give up that many yards/points when your defense is on the field that much, it really just makes the case for why Oregon will eventually fall. There's going to be a team that is good enough, if only on that day, to slow their offense down and the defense is still going to wear out.

The Oklahoma with Bradford is the exact same situation. You can say, but this offense....blah blah blah...but no one had put up numbers like that Oklahoma offense...ever. And they were completely shut down.

If Oregon does make it to the national title game, I wouldn't pick them over OSU or an SEC team.

Really? Wis only beat ASU at home by 2 or 3 (missed EP by ASU) and Iowa lost to Arizona. I wouldn't see them hanging with Oregon.
The others, maybe. But, as we saw against Wisconsin, OSU's defense is very weak up the middle, and Oregon would exploit that.

Auburn, Bama, TCU and Boise would be great, close games.
