Week 8: Wisconsin def. Iowa, 31-30
-
LeonardoBig game in Iowa City that'll help determine how the Big 10 shakes out.
3:30 PM kickoff on ABC -
Cleveland BuckBadgers in a tight one. They will be able to run the ball just enough.
-
vball10setIowa by 10, pulling away in the 4th quarter
-
sleeperAnother big match in the Big Ten. Seems like every week the top teams in the Big Ten(and the country) are clashing head to head.
-
ptown_trojans_1Buckeye fans needs to root for Iowa in this one. Someone needs to beat Wisconsin in the conference so OSU can be atop the Big Ten.
I see Iowa winning it late in a low scoring, typical ugly Big Ten game. -
gerb131Iowa will get it done. Wisky can't show up 2 weeks in a row.
-
fan_from_texasI think Iowa wins. Wisconsin hasn't been too consistent this season--the offense disappears at times. if they can't run the ball, Tolzein can't carry them, as he needs the play-action to set it up.

karen lotzFuck off louna

dwccrewSorry fellow Buckeye fans, but I think we are merely hoping that Iowa beats Wisky. I think Wisky is the better team (Iowa is the most overrated team out of a conference that has had several overrated teams). The one thing that may help out is the "hangover" factor after having such an emotional win over the #1 ranked team. I think Wisky wins this Saturday, however, I think they will trip up somewhere that they shouldn't this season.
-
OQBIowa wins this game by 7 or less. Their Defensive line can match the physicality of Wisconsin's running game. Stanzi has to get this team out on top early.
-
believerHere's how the Big 10 season will play out:
1. Iowa will beat Wisconsin
2. Wisconsin will beat Michigan State
3. Ohio State will beat Iowa
This will put Michigan State and Ohio State at the top at season's end. MSU would go to the Rose Bowl since they haven't been there since Jesus made the blind man see.
Ohio State will be 11-1 but somehow, some way the Buckeyes will get screwed out of a BCS bowl game appearance and we'll all be watching OSU play Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, or Auburn in the Capital One Bowl on New Years Day. -
WebFireI think Iowa wins in a great game. I think the consistency of Iowa, their defense, and Stanzi will be too much for the Badgers.

I don't think that's the rule to determine who goes anymore, but I could live with a game against an SEC team. We gotta play em to beat em. -
thedynasty1998We will learn a lot about the Big 10 this weekend. Is Wisconsin as good as they were last week? If so, what does that say about Michigan State?
Or if Iowa wins, what does that say about Ohio State? -

If Michigan State and Ohio State finish tied for the conference, whoever has the higher BCS ranking would go to the Rose Bowl, which would be Ohio State if they both finish 11-1. Also, if Michigan State were to go 12-0 and the Rose Bowl, there is zero chance of an 11-1 Ohio State being left out of a BCS bowl. I don't see how Ohio State finishes 11-1 though. -
Cleveland BuckThis game doesn't mean anything about Michigan State or Ohio State. Both Iowa and Wisconsin are top 10 teams that are underranked right now.

Michigan State beat Wisconsin and Ohio State lost to them. How Wisconsin fares this week says something about each team, IMO.
And I don't see how either are under-ranked? -

you really are an idiot--can you ever post without taking a shot at Ohio State? this thread is about Iowa and Wisconsin :rolleyes:cats gone wild;525150 wrote:OSU's worse nightmare -
cats gone wildYeah, kinda like how you never take shots at me in every thread. Also, that's why a put a wink smiley face at the end for a joke. You didnt see me once come on this site and bash OSU for losing to Wisconsin did ya?
-
vball10setcats, I only react to your posts, and my smiley face indicates sarcasm...now I know this is going to fall in the "be careful what you wish for" category, but I hope like hell that OSU gets to play LSU in a bowl this year (no smiley face needed)
btw, thanks for not bashing OSU for losing to another Big Ten team--that's mighty nice of ya' -
stlouiedipalmaIowa is like the red-headed stepchild this season. No respect from the pollsters whatsoever. Their only loss this year at Arizona was the result of a couple turnovers and special teams breakdowns. The truth is, they might just be the best team in the Big Ten this season. Their defense is for real and Stanzi can strike at any time. His receivers usually go for big yardage, so they are a threat to break one every time they line up.
Another thing to remember is that their three biggest games remaining on their schedule--Wisconsin, Michigan State and Ohio State--are all at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. While I hope the Buckeyes can beat them this year I have to believe there is a better than average chance that the Hawkeyes can run the table. I look for a big statement win from them this week, like maybe 21 or more. -

It's great that they get all three of them at home, but that's three pretty tough games to go. I'll be surprised if they can make it through without a loss to one of them. (I'm hoping they beat MSU and lose to OSU.)stlouiedipalma;525231 wrote:Another thing to remember is that their three biggest games remaining on their schedule--Wisconsin, Michigan State and Ohio State--are all at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. -

MSU beat Wisky at MSU. Wisky beat OSU at Wisky. The only thing that is obvious, and could remain that way if Iowa wins this weekend...is the home teams have a big advantage right now. This game isn't going to say one thing or another about OSU IMO. They sucked last week. They also struggled at Ill. Two SUB par road games.
Iowa wasn't overly impressive vs UM last week IMO either.
The major question this week, can Wisky do it two weeks in a row? Not an easy task, especially going on the road. Very similar types of teams going head to head. I give Iowa the edge because they are at home. -

10-2 and 11-2 Ohio State teams have made BCS bowls, there is no possible way that an 11-1 Ohio State team doesn't make a BCS bowl. They will go as an at-large team. The BCS knows who will bring the most money to the table and that is Ohio State and its huge traveling fanbase.
