It is time for the Truth!

ZombaypirateThe preseason poll was very flawed. Ohio St, over rated. Alabama over rated. Alabama lost 9 of their defensive starters and they are not near the team they were last year.
Florida is now out of the top 25. Virginia Tech started in the top ten.
The problem? Other teams that are true quality and not pretenders were punished by their poor preseason rankings.
Boise St returned 21 of 22 starters from an undefeated team that beat two top ten teams Oregon and TCU.
Boise St is better than last year and clearly the best team in FBS this year. Other teams are struggling to look as good as Boise St who is flawless. They have a great offense, defense and special teams. The alleged big boys had better hope and pray they do not draw Boise St.
The small conference teams Boise St, TCU and Utah are for real though Boise St is the head of the class.
Hopefully the BCS system will not place undervalued teams in the National title game this year. Here is a problem. Alabama was falsely placed in the number one spot. S. Carolina owned them so it is assumed that S. Carolina is a great team.... Top ten.... Well no, sorry but they lost to Kentucky, Kentucky is not a great team by any stretch of SEC fans imaginations they are very mediocre at best.
Time for a change in college football and time for people to open their eyes and watch the true number one team in the country Boise St Broncos. -
thedynasty1998Although I don't agree with you on some points, I do think that there shouldn't be a poll until week 3.

LOL...thought the same thing. How many times could the above scenario be used? Weekly? So Boise beat Oregon and TCU? Over a friggin year ago. OSU dominated Oregon in the Rose Bowl. So let me get this straight...Boise beats Oregon over a year ago...OSU beats them less then a year ago...yet Boise is underrated and OSU overrated? Ya..ok..I get it! -
ytownfootballSo, let's let Boise and TCU play each other again, only this time, in the 'ship. What difference will there be from the previous two times they met up?
They'll have a national championship between the two of them that the majority of fans will have little respect for because they both played a bullshit schedule, whether their "SOS" ends up being better than most thought at seasons end or not. Perception is reality. -

What you fail to comprehend is that Boise St brought back their entire team. The other teams did not so they changed and in some cases drastically which shows on the score board.
Alabama was vastly over rated they lost too many players they are not close to what they were last year. Boise St on the other hand returns 21 of 22 starters from an undefeated football team.
Can't wait till bowl time so we can hear the excuses like in 09 when Utah embarrassed Alabama. Boise St is clearly the number one team. I hope Oregon and Boise St get to match up in the NT game. So Oregon can once again go down.
OSU also lost players at a much higher degree than Boise St. I am Buckeye fan, but I have to call it like I see it. Boise St would beat OSU this season. -

Yeah playing Purdue and Kentucky are such high powerhouses. SOS is nothing. How do you arrive at your SOS? by the rankings? which are clearly flawed?
Watch Boise St and it is easy to see they are the best team in the nation. -
vball10set^^^sorry, but I respectfully disagree--I still think 'Bama is the best team in the nation

No, I know what Boise brought back. And OSU brought back 16 starters from last year as well. Bama overrated? Not sure I buy into that as well. I never thought they were this great team...but I thought they were capable of running to another title game. They are loaded with talent.
I happen to think that there is NO DOMINANT team this year. I think there are 6/7 teams who could easily win it, including Boise. But fact of the matter is, Boise and TCU have, BY FAR the easiest route to the title game. That is the arguement. They don't have to go into Camp Randall or Kinnick Stadium against quality teams. They don't have to go play away games at places like Auburn or yes, even South Caronlina. Yes, Boise is good. How good, that is the question that will never be answered. Even in the title or bowl game. When you have a month to prepare, anything can happen. When you have to play a quality schedule week in and week out as teams in Big Ten, SEC and other BCS conferences have to do to get to the title game...that is the big difference...and that is where the arguement comes in. -

You have to face reality...neither Boise nor TCU would be finishing at the top of the Big 10, SEC, or PAC 10 or hell, even the Big 12. They do not have the depth. -

SOS is nothing? Kentucky would beat the shit out of every team in Boises conference. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. -
Laley23Your point about the polls being out to early is spot on, Ill give you that.
I would like to see the first poll released 2 weeks before the BCS comes out. -

That would have been 2 weeks ago. How different would that have been from the preseason poll? A little here and there maybe. I dont' disagree. But in the end, the polls typically all work itself out. -

That will absolutely NEVER happen though...ESPN, Rivals AP...they make a living off that shit. Comes down to coin as we all know. -

Yes SOS is nothing. How do you arrive at your SOS? Please describe in detail how you come to your conclusion.
Since the rankings are clearly flawed, how do you know who are the best teams? Which comes first rankings or SOS?
How do we arrive at a ranking for a particular team?
How do we arrive at the SOS for a particular team?
LOL at Kentucky winning the WAC Boise St would dismantle them easily. Kentucky would struggle against Nevada, Hawaii, and Fresno St.
You have bought into the false preseason rankings.
Bowls will be coming I can't wait for the excuses to why Boise St again beats an "alleged" top team. -

Undefeated last season beating two TOP TEN teams. By your own reasoning they beat Oregon and TCU who were top ten teams. They returned 21 out of 22 starters from that team.
They will run the table once again and beat whoever you want to throw their way.
Time will tell. -

Here, I'll tie a couple things together for you. In 2007, Kentucky beat #9 Louisville and #1 LSU. That is two top ten teams. They also beat EKU, Kent, and Florida Atlantic - all similar to several Boise opponents. They also beat Vandy, Arkansas, and Florida State - all better than most Boise opponents. And they lost to #6 South Carolina, #10 Georgia, #12 Florida, as well as Tennessee (10 wins) and Miss State (8 wins).
If you want to make it a two game season from any given year in the last five, you can make a case for the a lot of teams. The reason those couple of wins here and there for Boise don't count for much is because other teams that do the same thing can't stop with those wins and say, "See, we are clearly the best" because they have to play plenty of other teams that are similar. Boise wins its two games and then beats 10 other teams that 62 out of 66 BCS schools would beat regularly as well. Doesn't mean a thing.
You may be right about Boise having talent. But talent doesn't mean anything if you don't earn your way in life. It is kind of like a spelling bee where you are calling Boise the greatest speller around because they nail cat, fat, and hat every time. -

If you knew a dang thing that you were talking about, you would know that the SoS rankings are NOT based on a teams "ranking" by the voters. SoS rankings are based solely on opponents records, opponents' opponents records, etc.
Meaning the teams you play, their records, and the teams' that they play records.
Most SoS calculations are just like the Harbin points used in HS football except the Harbin points are based solely on points for winning, SoS calculations are both W's and L's counted. -
Zombaypirateenigmaax;522701 wrote:Nevada, Hawaii, and Fresno State? You base that on what?
Watching the teams actually play football rather than the bias preseason poll. Kentucky is not a very good football team. -

Hawaii is 5-2 they have a better SOS ranking over Texas? Then Boise St has a very good case.
So now what is your excuse? Hawaii greater than Texas based on recored alone? -

So, your whole premise is that you know more than anyone and that is why the polls are flawed/biased/etc. Thread dead.
And we can all have a good laugh at Hawaii and Fresno State as your point. Was it the losses to Colorado and Mississippi that really proved to you how great these programs are?
