How Far Do The Buckeyes Fall ?

  • vball10set
in the AP & Coaches Polls...

    I'll say somewhere between 8 & 10
  • gerb131
One voter already had them at 7. Probably 10 or so.

    So 9 huh?

I think they'll stay just within the top 10

Alabama fell to 8 after losing by 14 on the road at the #19 team. Ohio State lost by 13 on the road at the #18 team, but their name is Ohio State, so I'll say they fall to 10 or 11.

Looking at who else lost today I think it'll be 8-10.

Oregon, Boise State, TCU, Oklahoma, Auburn, and LSU are all still undefeated and will definitely be ranked ahead of the Buckeyes. I assume that Alabama will be ahead of them as well. That puts them eighth at best. It's possible that Utah and Michigan State will finish ahead of OSU too since they are also undefeated. If that's the case then OSU would be 10th. I really don't see any other one loss teams besides Alabama (Stanford, Iowa, FSU, etc) being ranked ahead of OSU.

Who cares?? If they aren't ranked in the top5 at this point in the season, it doesn't matter.

Rankings don't mean anything at this point. It will be interesting to see where Michigan State and Wisconsin are in relation to Ohio State. The Big 10 race is WIDE open now and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I've never happen with a loss, but this was OSU's first real test, so it was hard to predict how they would show up today. Am I disappointed? Yea, but not like Purdue of last year. Wisconsin was just the better team today and you can't really pin the loss on one guy, or coaching. I actually thought the play calling was pretty good today. The offensive line probably played their best game of the year, but our defensive line was exposed as being undersized and a finesse defense. Wisconsin did a really good job of making Pryor stand in the pocket and taking away his first option. He showed that he's not comfortable if his first read isn't open and that he's just not as accurate when he actually has to think back there.

It is what it is and I think OSU wins out and plays in a BCS Bowl. They are still a top 10 team, they just aren't the best team in the country.

I think 8-10 range is pretty accurate.

    9-11

The only change I could see is if Michigan state moved ahead of OSU, since they are 7-0. Then they would just flip spots and OSU would be 9.

Oklahoma will jump ahead of Auburn and LSU will jump ahead of Alabama. I don't see one loss Wisconsin jumping ahead of undefeated Utah.

^ No way Oklahoma jumps Auburn. They beat a bad team and Auburn lit up the 12th ranked team. I think the hardest team to rank is Missouri. They're undefeated but don't seem to get much love in any of the polls right now. Next week against Oklahoma will be huge for them.

what did Oklahoma or LSU do to move ahead of teams that also won?
  • OQB
That's what I am wondering lol, idk what he was talking about.

Does anyone else hate Mark May on ESPN? I really want to know how he got that job....

I've never met a person who liked him. Lou too, but for some reason I don't mind him so much anymore.

The new Top 25 should look like this:

    1. Oregon (by default but will be hard pressed to go undefeated)
    2. Boise (will go undefeated and be in the NC game)
    3. TCU (upset next week by Air Force or lose to Utah)
    4. Auburn (possible loss to LSU or Alabama)
    5. Oklahoma (can't see the Sooners going unbeaten)
    6. Alabama (will lose to either LSU or Auburn)
    7. LSU (will lose one more to Auburn, Alabama, or Arkansas)
    8. Michigan State (might lose to Iowa)
    9. Wisconsin (might lose to Iowa)
    10. Ohio State (might lose to Iowa)
    11. Utah
    12. Nebraska
    13. Iowa
    14. Florida State
    15. Arizona
    16. Oklahoma State
    17. Arkansas
    18. Missouri
    19. South Carolina
    20. West Virginia
    21. Kansas State
    22. Miami
    23. Georgia Tech
