Is Pryor just Steve Bellisari on Steroids?

What happened on the drive with about 6 minutes to go against Wisconsin? 3 HORRIBLE throws that were so bad, Tressel had no choice but to punt. What exactly has he improved on? There was all this talk about him being such a better passer this year. He still has a horrible motion and is not accurate at all.

Wrong. The pass to Posey on that drive was on the money, Posey dropped it. Would have been a first down. Now STF up and move on troll. And if you can't see he is a better passer then he has been, your absolutely clueless. Horrible passers don't throw for 15 TD, 4 int , 1500yds at a 65% clip at the halfway point of the season. Is he perfect? Not by a long stretch. Is he the best QB in the country? Not even close. I have never said he was. I never said he deserved the Hiesman or anything. But he is better without question.

He may be better than he was as a freshman. Again, he still makes bad decisions, isn't accurate, can't read a defense. How many times did he get bailed out with an acrobatic catch last weekend. Tressel punting the ball down 2 scores with 6 minutes to go and the season on the line should tell anyone anything they need to know about Pryor as a quarterback. Sorry you feel as if someone telling the truth is trolling. Keep racking up those stats against teams full of cripples TP!

and FWIW I actually thought he had made progress this season. I haven't watched OSU outside of the Marshall game, a few plays against the Canes, and then the Wisconsin game. I figured based off the numbers he was putting up he had worked out some of the flaws. After watching last Saturday, I'd have to say he hasn't really moved forward at all.

HAHA, Karen acting like he knows 2 shits about football.

So it's safe to say you are basing this on a third of the season so far?

I think you misread my point. I've said a couple of times that I think Pryor is a very good qb. I'm just trying to point out that at this point in the season he has played great vs. the crap teams and not so good against good competition. To say he has improved tremendously at this point in the season is a little premature, imo. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes. I'm basing it off what I saw. Based off the Wisconsin game he has not improved greatly as so many OSU fans have claimed. The same flaws are there. People on here have said that he was getting away with making bad decisions/throws against inferior teams and it would hurt him against better competition. It appears that's true.

What did I say that was not accurate? Please use your vast knowledge about football to back up your arguments.

    I don't disagree Karen!

And I think Pryor will be better then Troy Smith before he is finished. His improvement from last year has been very good. He will only get better IMO. He has a year and half to get better as a QB.

I don't think Pryor is a bum but Troy Smith is probably the best college QB I've ever seen(sans one game), and I doubt we ever see Pryor at that level.

Not sure I agree about his play vs good teams. He has played one poor game IMO, that vs Ill. He wasn't great vs Wisky, but he wasn't THAT bad either. I assume your also referring to Miami. Which he had over 230yds passing, 1 TD AND over 110yds rushing, 1 TD. If you call close to 350yds total offense, 2 TD's and no turnovers, 36pts on offense a bad performance...I'd like to know what you would expect?

And I wouldn't classify him as very good at this point either. So I don't totally disagree with where your at. My point is that he has improvd from past years. Not necessarily as this season progresses. A bit inconsistant, yes.

Well, if I used that same analogy when I only watched ND play vs Mich and Stanford...I would think ND and Crist are completely worthless!! But I am smart enough to realize that players and teams actually do have a poor game here and there and don't base my judgment off of only a couple of games. Thats completely ignorant to do so! Hell, in my lifetime, i have seen the greatest players ever have poor games. And not for one second, did that change my thoughts on the whole about them. Ridiculous!

I agree with that he makes bad decisions and has accuracy issues, but it is clear he can read a defense. He just tries too hard when no one is open, making people think he doesn't know what is going on. His read on the pass to Ballard in the Rose Bowl was an awesome read (if you watch the video you can Ballard break open as Pryor throws the ball). He knows what he is doing, he just has execution problems and tries to do too much.

Hmmm, Crist worthless against Michigan? You must not be smart enough to realize he missed the entire first half outside of the opening drive. 280 yards and 2 TDs with a rushing TD and an INT in one half plus one drive and you think that's worthless? Real brainiac you are.

Ya, your right...13-25 passing is very impressive vs one of the WORST defenses in the country. Your so bias you can't even get the point I made. Right over your head..as usual.

again 280 yards and 2 tds in one half of play. Nothing went over my head. This is a thread about Pryor but you brought Clausen and Crist into it. Did Thad tell you to use that argument after practice??

Why would I base my opinion of Pryor off of games against the shit teams he played against? I've seen 2+ games that OSU has played, and all of the things you have said he improved on, I haven't seen. Still not accurate, makes bad decisions, doesn't go through his progressions, has a horrible throwing motion. Please tell me the things that you, in your unbiased opinion, feel Pryor has improved on.

Another thing about Crist, did anyone on here say they expected him to win the Heisman this year? Did anyone say he is so much improved since his freshman year? This is his first year starting in an offense that he is still learning and he is coming off an ACL injury that limited him somewhat while the offense was being installed. You don't even have to be as smart as you claim to be to understand the differing levels of expectations for the 2.

No offense, but his pass to Jake Ballard was a "game of 500" pass and he is so lucky Jake is like 6'8''

The throw wasn't great, but the read was amazing. Watch the video from behind the LOS, it's quite the awesome read. Ballard wasn't just 6'8 or whatever, he came open as he made his break on his route. The throw was late and high, but it was most definitely an awesome read
  • rydawg5
If it was an awesome read the throw would have not been late. Just a dangerous pass. He throws a lot of dangers passes, most dont work out. He literally has the dumbest qb IQ and with the most athletic ability Ive ever seen.. he looked like he was doing like a machine gun dance in the Illinois game TD pass.

I hope he progresses big time again for his senior year so we can make a BCS Championship game, but I dont know if it will happen.

I'm sure the NFL GM's side with me over you. He's not a qb, hes an athlete. You can get away with it in college, but this is the end of the road for an athlete who plays the QB position.

Can Pryor become a Josh Cribbs type? Maybe.. Maybe depends on how humble he is.

Pat White plays minor league baseball now

Maybe Pryor should contact Matta about the SF position.

yea he sucks, but he has a better winning % than a majority of the QBs in the NFL
