Good win for Duke. Pretty ugly game to watch, but Duke got the job done.

I will admit, I was shocked by last night's result. But, as I said, Duke IS different this season. The Blue Devils are playing with their biggest (tallest) group of guys in years, and proved it last night. Duke out rebounded Connecticut on the offensive boards 24 to 13 and overall, 56 to 43. Normally Duke would have been blasted by a long and athletic team like UConn, but not last night. Duke took UConn to the shed in this category. And kept with the Huskies, who have led the nation in blocked shots for the past eight seasons, in blocks as well. It was a good, good night for Duke's bigs.

Kyle Singler was just 2 of 12 for 6 points. Not exactly great numbers for his NOPTY case, but I didn't mind seeing that to be completely honest. It makes me smile quite a bit, actually, that Duke can handle Connecticut this handily (for the most part) with its star, NPOTY candidate hitting only two field goals and scoring less than seven points.

As I've said before, I'm still skeptical that Duke's guard play, outside of Smith and the nasty yet maturing freshman Andre Dawkins, is athletic enough to stay with teams like Villanova and teams like UConn, once UConn hits March. And this will be a different UConn team once March rolls around. Scheyer is obviously not unathletic, but there are certainly more athletic guys, and we've seen that in Duke's tournament losses the past couple of seasons.

But, I'm just a crazy fan. Let's see what the big guy has to say about Duke's athleticism and Doug Gottlieb's d-bagism.

This is from last night's postgame transcript at the Garden presser.

Reporter: Doug Gottlieb called your team alarmingly unathletic. Did you think today answered that question pretty emphatically?

Mike Krzyzewski: He should be an expert on alarmingly non?athletic. So I'll have to take a look at that a little bit closer because it comes from an expert who actually knows what it feels like to be alarmingly non?athletic.

Actually, we're pretty athletic; we're just not as athletic as Connecticut. Singler is a really good athlete. Lance, Miles. Jon is not leaping tall buildings with a single bound but he's a real good athlete. But I wouldn't call us like this athletic team, but we're not amazingly non?athletic. And I would rather not get into a discussion with Doug because I have respect of his stature and he should have his arguments with people of similar stature. That would be a good thing.

Reporter: 25 offensive rebounds on a team like UCONN with their size and athleticism; what do you chalk that up to?

Mike Krzyzewski: Well, we're big too. Non?athletic but very big.

Reporter: Kyle, 2?of?12, 6 points, he shoots 29 percent. I told you those numbers coming into the game.

Mike Krzyzewski: I would have been very worried or mad at you. I would have told you to go talk to Doug Gottlieb. You don't have to do that by the way. I won't punish you like that.

Now that's freakin' hysterical. Doug, You Suck. Haha.

Gottlieb deserves anything he gets, but I'm surprised that K was this upset about his comments. He knows Gottlieb is a moron, which is why I'm surprised he even commented on it. Still funny though.

Definitely good stuff to see K ripping on someone like Gottlieb

Coach K has a great sense of humor. Always has. And, as many know, he has very thin skin. I didn't see the video of this, but I imagine he delivered these comments dryly. Classic K.

I don't have a problem with it. If Doug can dish it, he surely can take it. I'm sure this will create for some interesting banter between Doug and Hubert this coming week (i.e. Hubert, or maybe Ryan Burr, harassing Doug for his "athletic" talents
