Is Okluckhoma 2010's version of the 2002 Luckeyes?

  • Zombaypirate
I present the Oklahoma Sooners version 2010.

    Vs Utah St. 31-24
    Vs Florida St. 47-17
    Vs Air Force 27-24
    Vs Cincinnati 31-29
    Vs. Texas 28-20

I guess time will tell, what say you?

Nah I don't think so. I see them losing at least one game, maybe two
  • Little Danny
One common link, both teams grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat from UC down at PBS. :)

That being said, Oklahoma is a very young team this year. They have numerous freshman and sophomore playing in their two deep. I would not be surprised to see them drop a game or two this season, particularly from a team that should be favored to beat (as in Oklahoma State).

    I don't think so, but....
Murray is a beast, maybe close to MoC. But, their defense is not as dominate.

Their schedule is also very favorable. Only 2 ranked teams left, Mizzou and Ok. St. And I think they can take Baylor, A&M, and TT.
So, if they emerge unbeaten, they would probably get Nebraska in the Big XII title game.
If they can somehow beat them...it gets interesting....

    No

Sorta flying under the radar and the Big 12 is down as a whole this year. They still have to play the championship game and right now its a jumbled mess so hard to say. I think Baylor maybe a sneaky game for them.

B12 has five undefeated teams right now. Not sure how you can say they are down. Texas is down, but that does not necessarily mean the conference is down as a whole.

Ohio State 2010 will be the Ohio State 2002 this year. By the end of the year everyone will be humping Oregon or Alabamas leg and will think they are unbeatable ect ect and OSU will have to show em how its done. I sincerley hope OSU BAMA BSU and Oregon all go undefeated and blow up this BCS crap though.

I said this after week 2...I find myself watching games screaming at the TV, and then ending up with a W---it's eerie.

Nebraska, and OU are the only good teams. Mizzou, KSU, and OK St have struggled to beat some pretty shitty teams.

It's a pretty widespread opinion. Watch a few of the games, you will see that they do not look like your average undefeated team.

The two teams can be compared only if Oklahoma goes on to win the National Championship over one of the most talented teams ever assembled in college football history.

which won't happen because no team will have the 1st round picks next year miami had that year.

I think it is way too early to say this. Oklahoma has to get thru their conference unbeaten before any of this can be discussed.

Add Nebraska/Oklahoma, and TCU to that list. I want the BCS to completely blow the fuck up. If 6 undefeated teams doesn't do that, then the flawed system will never go.

haha me too. I love watching the chaos ensue. Bill Hancock talking out of his butt is pretty funny. The NCAA just took away one of his talking points though ("the student athletes need to be in class! The season is long enough!") The NCAA wanted to expand the NCAA Tourney into oblivion.

As long as Ohio State goes, I don't care how many teams go undefeated. I don't think the Sooners will do it, though. I think Nebraska has a better shot at it.

So has Northwestern, Michigan State, and Michigan....who happen to be 3 of the 4 still undefeated in the Big 10.

I'd take those 3 over Mizzou/KSU/Ok St anyday of the week.

Not me. I think Mizzou would beat all three. So would Ok St. KSU would get one, maybe 2.

KSU just got killed by a Denard Robinson wanna be (dont know how to put that). The only Big 10 team that would maybe get beat by either of those 3 is NW.
Do they Big 10 and Big 12 have bowl tie ins together?

Mizzou squeaked by mighty San Diego St at home 27-24 beat the Illini by 10 on opening day.
Oklahoma St snuck by Troy 41-38 at home and Texas A&M 38-35 at home.
K-St just got drilled by Nebraska and have close wins over Central Florida and Iowa St a td or less.
Northwestern would be the weakest link as they have struggled to beat the SEC power Vandy and the MAC's beast Central Mich.

Mizzou beat San Diego State, which only has one loss. San Diego State might be a solid team out of the MWC for all we know. Season is early. Mizzou also beat Illinois by 10. OSU beat them by 11? Not sure what your point was on that one unless you're trying to say Mizzou is equal to OSU?

Oklahoma State is all offense. But they have enough offense to beat anyone. The offensive coordinator is the former Texas Tech OC and they are 2nd in the nation in points (52.3) and 3rd in passing yards (364.8). 170 rushing yards per game isn't awful either. I can only assume you don't watch much football outside of the big 10. Troy has a history in the last decade of playing the big boys and scaring the shit out of plenty of them and beating several. LSU, Georgia, Nebraska, OkState, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, or the mighty Buckeyes who led 14-10 over Troy in 2008 in the 4th quarter. Any of these teams will tell you that Troy isn't a team to take lightly.

Kansas State just got drilled by a team in the national title discussion. Lets not forget they beat UCLA (who hammered Texas and beat a ranked Houston), and Central Florida looks to have a pretty good team with their only losses are to 4-1 NC State and K State, both by a TD or less.

You're right though. Northwestern would be the weakest link. I don't think they could beat any of those 3 Big 12 teams. Michigan has no defense just like OkState so that might be a shootout, but the 3 point win against Troy that you make fun of OkState for is much better than beating Iaa UMass by 5.

Oklahoma State was in a dog fight late in the 1st quarter with the freaking Ragin' Cajuns. The Big 12 is baaaad.
