Very tough break for him & the team -

jordo212000Man, that's a bummer. Heard this on the radio earlier. He should get another year of eligibility (medical redshirt from last year)... If that moron Masoli gets a break from the NCAA, then there is no reason that Moeller shouldn't either.
-
BoatShoesThat's really a tough break. You have to feel bad for the guy.
-
thedynasty1998There's no doubt he will get another year if he applies for it. Hate to hear of any season ending injuries, but especially for Tyler Moeller due to what he had to overcome.
-
TiernanHuge loss for the Bucks...especially in a secondary already hampered with injuries. I was really hoping to see Moeller knock out Robinson.
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeThis is devastating on a couple accounts. First and foremost, the poor kid... what an unbelievable season this kid was having - great story of "coming back from a despicable injury that could have cost this kid his life, and playing 1st Team Big Ten worthy." Now, the kid suffers another terrible setback. I pray he lands a 6th yr medical shirt, but the NCAA is usually morons about this.
Secondly, this is a terrible injury for Ohio State. After losing Barnett, and all the other "bang-ups" our secondary has gone thru this season, this was like THE LAST injury this team needed. This is going to put a major kink into OSU's title shots. Mark it down. -
gerb131That sucks. Bryant played well in his absence and will have to unless they move Hines back to nickel.

Maybe, maybe not. OSU toughest games are at Iowa and Wisky. Neither one is a passing team with a great QB. So, I still say its not going to hurt OSU in the Big Ten. If they get to the title game, depending on who they play, then it could. But hopefully by then, this youth has more experience and is much better.
Losing Moeller does hurt, no question. But i am hopeful OSU is able to overcome it. Every team at some point in the season deals with injuries and adversity. The good/great teams overcome it. We'll see how good this OSU defense is. -

Iowa not a good passing team??? Ricky Stanzi's stats...
82/121 1226yds 10 td's, 2 int's 176.9 Qb rating.
He only trails Persa of Northwestern as far as stats go in the league. -
devil1197This is OSU and their a deep football team.
Tressel put in a true freshman Bryant and he played like a veteran on Saturday.
So OSU still has both starting corners and safety along with a safety who was supposed to start going into the season. Meanwhile, Bryant will be the next great player for OSU from Glenville. -

Bryant looked really good on Saturday. No worries with him, although he was a backup for a reason.devil1197;508065 wrote:This is OSU and their a deep football team.

I heard the same thing from some OSU faithful on here regarding Ohrian Johnson when CJ Barnett went down. Given Johnson's performance to date, I feel comfortable in saying Barnett is the better player.
Maybe youth is the only reason Bryant was a backup? Its not that uncommon for a player to come off the bench and perform better than a starter. I'm not saying Bryant is better than Moeller, but so far in limited action he has looked very good. -

He was a back up because OSU's defense is loaded and the only freshman to see reasonable time is Hankins due to OSU losing the most on the DL.
Bryant wasn't going to replace our returning starter CB's and Moeller/Hines.
Bryant is going to be a stud. -

I think that is exactly why it WILL hurt. Bryant is going to be fine in coverage. How he does in run support will be the big question. We'll probably see more of the base 4-3 against Wisconsin, but we'll definitely need Bryant to step up big time against Iowa, who can run and pass.centralbucksfan;507924 wrote:Maybe, maybe not. jpake1This injury definitely hurts. We'll need the offense to pick it up the next couple of weeks. Bryant is going to be a damn good player, but Moeller already was just that. Offensive coordinators will be licking their lips to spread the field and throw at Bryant and Johnson. Hopefully they keep it in front of them and make some plays here and there. As a betting man, I think I'd have to go with Indiana and the spread this week. They might find a way to score a bit more points than last year.

Yeah, I'll take my lickings here. I was one of the faithful that said we would not miss a beat with Johnson. I really thought Johnson was going to be the starter too going into this season. He has all the tools, just can't quite seem how to figure it all out tho. -

I bet if Barnett had not gotten hurt you would see Hines in the Star with Johnson and Barnett deep, but with the injuries, I doubt any moves will be made -
