  The problem was that ABC/ESPN was carrying four different game at the same time and only has three networks to show them on. This meant that none of the games would be completely national games. Usually they either have two games that are national between ABC and ESPN and ESPN2 has it's own game, or they have three games and you'll get all three games on some combination of the three networks. With four games and three networks someone will get left out in your area. It makes sense that people in the eastern US would get the two regional games (ND/BC and PSU/Iowa), but it doesn't make sense that they would get USC/Wash instead of Stanford/Oregon.

  Yeah I definitely agree with getting Stanford/Oregon over USC. Not sure what the thinking was there. Another question is why wouldn't they use ESPNU for one of the games. They televise at least one game on there a weekend. It doesn't make sense to have all of these stations available in HD, and instead you get 2 games in HD and a game in standard def.

  A lot fewer homes get ESPNU and ESPN has to pay these conferences a certain amount of money and therefore they need to make a certain amount off of each game. Advertisers aren't as willing to pay for ad space for a game on ESPNU since it isn't going to end up in as many homes. This is probably the same reason why people on the east coast got the USC/Wash game over the Stanford/Oregon game because they needed to get all four of their games in roughly the same number of houses.

  Then split the Stanford game and the USC game 50/50 between ESPNU and ESPN2 throughout the country. Either way, its dumb to not at least have them available to the people who do have the U. Instead of flipping back and forth between 4 games, 3 of which could have been ESPN family of networks, I watched 1 game.

  Still don't agree with the decision to put awful ND on primetime.

  It was definitely weird. I got the Stanford/Oregon game on Time Warner and my friend down the street on Massillon Cable got the USC/Washington game. You would think that the Stanford/Oregon game would be on since it was two top 10 teams playing each other.
