what do you think about Lane kiffin?
-
dikoterI think he will bring the program up!!!
-
Azubuike24Hopefully he starts a new streak for UT against UK on Saturday
-
darbypitcher22He's a snake.
I really hope Rich Brooks and the 'Cats bring home that barrel on Saturday. This may be their best chance -
RotinajDont really like him but since his dad is the d coordinator they will have a nasty d when they get players and learn the system. Dont they have a top 10 recruiting class comin in??
-
sjmvsfscs08He's a jackass, but he knows his stuff. His dad is also one of the best defensive minds in the history of the sport, so that helps.
-
burt07The vibe I've always gotten from him since he arrived at Tennessee is the next generation of Spurrier. I have no idea if he'll have the same success Spurrier has had, but he just comes across that way to me. Someone that knows what they're doing, kind of seems fishy, and kind of comes across as a jackass.
-
wgh raiderkiffin will be a solid winner for the vols.
-
se-alumHe'll have the Vols back on the map in another year or 2. We know the D will be top notch, he just needs to straighten out the offense.
-
ZeroCoolstep in the right direction i think. fulmer had to go.
-
jordo212000I thought he was a good coach in Oakland (people forget that Russell actually played halfway decent last year before they got rid of Kiffin). But he has been shooting his mouth off an awful lot. Talking is fine as long as you can back it up. He seems like a punk though, I used to like him, but when he tattles on Florida for something he thought was infraction, but really wasn't and then calls Florida out, and then once they play proceeds to milk the clock, I don't respect that and I HATE Florida
-
gerb131Barely lost to Bama and Fl so I would say they are on the right track. He is a good coach but some of his methods/tactics in recruiting are questionable. And yes, Fat Phil had to go.

haha thats great -
3reppomHe is a good coach the be sure. He knows the pro style offense better than just about anyone else in the country. However in the long run the thing that will make Tennessee succeed of fail is the rest of the coaching staff. They laid out a ton of money to bring all those guys in. Next year will be really interesting. They should make a large leap in year two. If they don't it could get really interesting in Knoxville.
-
darbypitcher22I see with all the money they paid to bring those guys in a ton of egos on that staff. Could cause a lot of problems down the road
-
3reppomI still think it was the right move for Tennessee though. They needed a drastic change of culture in knoxville after the end to the fulmer era and have gotten one for better or worse. I whould imagine that the staff will disband in a couple of years before there gets to be alot of friction.
-
darbypitcher22You would imagine some of these guys would move on to other places, but you never know. This could go either way. I'm sure not many people are happy about 6-5 at the moment but hey, you've gotta start somewhere right/
-
ZeroCool6-5 with the last few recruiting classes by fulmer. he should be up for coach of the year. just kidding but other than hardesty, berry, and janzen, who has heard of any of these guys? fulmer left the cupboard bare. it will take a few years.
-
darbypitcher22thats what you figure. All I can say is Kentucky better get em this year because they might not for another 25 years after this
-
NateHe has great potential.
-
HesstonI think he has large stones, which is needed in that conferance. time will tell if he's a good coach.
-
NNNHe's like the little boy in every neighborhood who you knew was always up to something, but could play it innocent (and fuel suspicion further). Of course, he then grows up and becomes successful but retains that ability that very few people have....the ability to piss off large numbers of people while also making them think "Yeah, that was pretty funny". Spurrier used to do that. "What do you think of Peyton Manning coming back for his senior year?" "Good for him; now he can be a three-time Citrus Bowl MVP".
In the span of about a month, Kiffin completely purged UT of what has been referred to as "Phil and the Skoal Patrol". The almost incomprehensible lack of depth that Fulmer left behind has been out there for all the world to see, and yet the all-star cast of coaches has somehow found a way to get milk from a stone. Next year will be a struggle, more so if Berry moves on. 2011....watch out.
As a longtime UT fan, I don't remember the last time I was this excited about the future.
