Remember Justin Green??

se-alumThe OSU commit that de-committed and accepted the scholarship to Illinois. Tress and staff told him he would be a corner in the Big Ten, and Zook told him he could play RB. Green will be the starting CORNER for the Illini when the Bucks visit. This isn't meant to be a jab at the kid, he did what he felt he needed to do. It's just interesting to see how these things turn out years later.

But if you remember right Zook told him he would give him a chance at running back and he did with 19 carries 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. I think he just wanted a chance to play RB. But who would you trust Zook or Tress? -

Agree. He probably felt (and likely was) going to get a better shot at playing RB at Illinois rather than tOSU. -

True, but 19-88-2 seems like a pretty decent stat line, if you were truly going to give someone a chance, I would think those #'s would buy you some more time.Tiger2003;500752 wrote:But if you remember right Zook told him he would give him a chance at running back and he did with 19 carries 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. Yah but they were short at CB, and he sacrificed something for the team. Illinois also returned their leading rusher. So his carries were going to be down -

I see....like I said, I have absolutely nothing against the kid, I never question a kids choice of a college. I just thought it was interesting how things ended up working out.Tiger2003;500825 wrote:Yah but they were short at CB, and he sacrificed something for the team. OneBuckeyeTressel said in his presser yesterday that green should be starting for OSU at CB. He had a couple other comments about it too, I can't find them right now though.

ZoltanGood luck to the kid.
OSU has had very few decommits under JT, and they can really be costly especially if they come late and you cannot replace them with the same quality. I think this is because JT does not hard sell kids, which leads to more "buyers regret."
