Week 5: Notre Dame def. Boston College, 31-13

killer_ewokA needed win but LOTS of room for improvement.
Hopefully Kelly stresses to the players that the win should be kept in perspective. Playing that way won't beat Pitt, Utah, USC. -

Wow, God forbid someone actually pick a 3 point underdog in a night game at home. They must all be jealous haters.

Look at the people who predicted it, especially the first 4. Do you think they honestly thought ND would lose or were they trolling?
Take a look at some predictions in the Pitt/ND thread too, see if anything is familiar. -

Do you really want to go back through all the Irish predictions that have fell flat over the past 20 years?
Let's face it, they got it done yesterday, and beat a BC team that wouldn't win a game in a real conference(aka anything besides the ACC and the Big East). Congrats, ND is still mediocre, enjoy 6-6 and a bowl loss, you can bookmark this if you want because I(and you) already know its true. -

What about the ND fans who scoffed at Standford blowout predictions? It goes both ways. So soooo sensitive lol -

You could probably say the same thing about Ohio State, since you predict a Heisman and national championship every preseason.sleeper;506329 wrote:Do you really want to go back through all the Irish predictions that have fell flat over the past 20 years?
I believe I said that I could scenarios in which Notre Dame loses to everyone but Army and Western Michigan, or could beat everyone. I still feel I was very close, however Harbaugh's Cardinal team is impressive. I also said the most realistic best-case (oxymoron?) scenario was 8-4 with losses to Pittsburgh, Utah, Southern Cal and one other due to the learning curve. Since Kelly's staff is 3-1 on the year in terms of coaching against opponents, I feel I was right on.
Before you jump on it, yes I completely understand the notion of "you are what you are" and Notre Dame is 2-3. But in my opinion that thought process works better in the NFL, not college. Regardless, I'm much happier with this 2-3 than at any point during last season. I feel like a broken record, but unless you're ccrunner, you can absolutely see how much more competent this team is than Weis' teams were. Last season I was livid almost every game because they were games Notre Dame had no business losing, it was decided defensive schematic disadvantage (say that five times fast) and it was terrible to watch. This season they've lost to a team because their offensive catalyst was out for a half, because of the learning curve and horrid reffing, and because the opponent was just a little bit better in every facet of the game. A child can point out which game is which.
My point is 2-3 doesn't bother me BECAUSE I LOVE MEDIOCRITY!!!!!! Just kidding, it's because I have no doubt Kelly will turn the ship around and these three losses are growing pains. Please consult the post about coaches and their first seasons for further information.
And lastly, it's "have fallen flat," not "have fell flat." -

Ohhh you got me on the typo you professor.
You constantly come in OSU threads taking shots and then act all high and mighty quoting ND predictions that didn't turn out. Sounds hypocritical to me.
You get your panties in a bunch over ND on a daily basis.....hell everyone here knows that. -
killer_ewokNot this shit again.....

I haven't been on an OSU thread in a few weeks, there is no point. Since you have nothing of worth to add to any ND thread, why are you here? -

Yeah your posts are full or worth...gtfo. So I need a pass to enter these threads? lol
Like I said...."high and mighty."
I will concede, because others will probably join and 3 pages will turn to 6 with nothing of "worth." -

Sorry, I was actually making an honest prediction idiot. I didn't see the memo that I have I am only allowed to pick the winner of your favorite team. Notre Dame still sucks, and they have been the MOST OVERRATED TEAM IN THE PAST 20 YEARS. -
karen lotzyeah like I said that was more for the first 4 people I quoted, I shouldn't have included you.

considering Notre Dame brings in better recruiting classes, it has to be the other way around. -

just wanted to quote myself here -
Little DannyI'm not a ND hater like a lot of the people on this board. My only criticism of this game was on behalf of ESPN. How many times did we have to see Brian Kelly's parents on the sidelines and hear their story? It was like Brady Quinn's sister all over again.
Good win for the Irish, best of luck for the remainder of the season. Kelly will get Irish clicking soon enough. -

If I could predict the result of every game I would be setting the lines in Vegas, not giving my thoughts on this site. 4 out of 5 is pretty damn good. Check the threads before running your mouth about one prediction:
I said 28-21 Notre Dame win vs. Purdue. Final score was 23-12 Notre Dame (only 4 pt difference in pick) - Post #2 in game thread
I said 31-28 Notre Dame loss vs. UM. Final score was 28-24 UM (only 1 pt difference in pick) - Post #26 in game thread
I said MSU by 3 (no score). Final score was 34-31 (right on) - Post #9 in game thread
I said Stanford win 42-28. Final score was 37-14 (9 point difference because I gave ND too much credit) - Post #64 in game thread
My predictions over the course of the season for ND have been a hell of a lot closer than yours or any other ND fan. It isn't me hating, it's being realistic. -

Please list all of my predictions for Notre Dame games along with every other game prediction I have made. Thanks. -
slingshot4everThat's right, you don't even make predictions. Because instead of having your own opinions you just rip on others when they are wrong and don't bother to acnkowledge when they are spot on. What a man you are.

You said they wouldn't go 6-6 with a bowl loss(should they choose to accept it). Not saying you're wrong yet, but I want to make you remember LOL
