Say wha? McElroy? -
Cleveland BuckI don't watch every minute of Alabama games, but I watch them quite a bit, and every time I see him play he makes good accurate throws on time, makes good decisions, and moves the ball. He is going to be an NFL starting QB when he is done at Bama.

Am I missing the sarcasm or are you being serious because this is serious bidness. Thats almost as saying that Bama isn't miles ahead of everyone else. -
mallymal614Dear Urban Meyer.......
Your boyfriend isn't there anymore. Try something new!!!!!!!! -
gerb131Bama with a pick they are deep in Gaytor land again.

KR1245Gators might lose this one by 40. Bama is by far the better team, its not even close

Well, so much for that prediction. Bama is depantsing Florida on national television. -
Cleveland BuckI knew Florida wasn't the 7th best team in the country, but this is ridiculous. I don't know if anyone can beat Alabama this year.
-
gerb13124-0 Tide. If they don't receive every first place vote its a sham.
-
wes_mantoothThis is a major ass whooping....Florida may lose by 50.
-
Cleveland BuckI'll tell you what, if Ohio State were to meet Alabama later in the year, I wouldn't be very confident. Brandon Saine wouldn't gain 10 yards the whole game, I don't care if Tressel handed him the ball 40 times. Pryor would have to improve dramatically as a passer for Ohio State to have any chance.
-
NonThe big thing with Alabama is the way they block.
The tight ends and receivers crush their guy one-on-one so the opposing defense has to play great at every level and get off blocks. -
mallymal614Oregon and Standford has a real game going on. I'm turning to that one.

Really? Did you forget last weeks game already? They could have easily been beat. Also, prior to this game, McElroy threw 3 interceptions in something like his last 34 pass attempts. That isnt the second best qb in the nation -
lhslep134Florida was badly exposed today. I woke up this morning and I just had this feeling that Alabama was going to destroy the Gators. The offensive line is in shambles with Pouncey at center, they need to find another option and move him back to guard, and they need to stop running the spread option offense with John Brantley and go to the Alex Smith shotgun offense.
-
ZombaypirateI thought the game would be much closer. Alabama put lots of pressure on Brantley and he broke. THe first drive for Florida was great, then the interception and it looked like that was it the reast of the game. Unless a Qb has some time they are going to be in trouble.
-
centralbucksfanBama looked damn good. And Fla is not so good. Brantly was hugely overhyped. He looks like a square peg trying to be fit into a round hole in that offense. Its never going to work IMO. He is a pure pocket passer. I thought the Fla defense could hang in there...but they obviously have a long ways to go as well. Bama was impressive though. They hit Fla right in the mouth from the getgo and Fla never receovered.

ghosthunterThere is no team right now that's playing better than Alabama. At this point, they are the best team in the country-by far!

With all respect, I totally disagree. I don't think Luck is the best QB or that McElroy is even close to second best. IMO, others may agree, Kellen Moore of Boise St. is the best QB in the country. While he has only played 2 BCS teams this season, the kid can put the ball wherever he wants. He is just a good QB. I still think Luck is top 3, but not the best.
McElroy is a solid QB and it goes a long way that he is unbeaten as a starter, but it helps that he has 2 of the best RB's in the nation behind him (Ingram could legitmately win a second Heisman if he keeps performing the way he is).

I agree. As sad as it is to say as a Buckeye fan, I think if we go unbeaten and face Bama in the BCS title game, we will get embarassed yet again. Our offense (particularly the playcalling) just couldn't put up the numbers we would need to to beat BAma. After last week I thought we maybe could, but after yesterday it is clear that Bama is by far the best team in the country right now.
And let me add that Saban is probably the best college football coach currently as well. -

Long ways to go. I don't think OSU would be embarressed. I think our defensive front/LB has enough to contain Bama run game. And with Pryor being the X factor, I believe he has enough to keep OSU in the game with this running ability. It would be enough to keep Bama defense on their heels, not being able to tee off as they do against pure drop back passers they have played against thus far. If we were stuck with a pure drop back passer...then I wouldn't have any confidence.
NO question, Bama is tops right now. But again, its only the 5th week of the season. A lot of football to be played. And more times then not, Tress teams do get better as season goes on.
Yesterday games did a number both ways...OSU struggled, Bama rolled. Its only natural that people will think what you said above. That can change in one week.
I lost confidence myself in OSU after yesterday. But I do go back to the Maimi game. I think Miami is going to end up being a pretty good team.(they look good now) They have some great athletes, pretty darn good defense. OSU did just fine. They had a hiccup yesterday. It happens in the course of a long season. But no question, OSU needs to get better especially with the run game.
BTW, McElroy is a WINNER. But he isn't even in the top 5 as far as QB go in the country.
Lastly, there is no question that Saban is the best in the bussiness right now.
