C.J. Barnett out for season as Ohio State safety
-
daveSucks to see these early season injuries. As a Michigan fan I don't have much of a reason to watch OSU, but going to the same high school as Kurt Coleman and Barnett I've enjoyed watching their success over the last few years. Hope he can bounce back next year.
-
that_guyThat's too bad for him. He was having a great game against Miami before the injury, didn't look so good against Marshall but really stepped it up last week, and probably would have kept improving. Fortunately he'll probably get a Medical RS and still have 3 seasons remaining...
I'm guessing they'll replace him with Ohrian Johnson, but after that there's not a lot of depth at Safety, Gant & Domicone would probably be 2nd string now... -
ZombaypirateYeah bad news for the young man. Hopefully he makes a full recovery and will be back on the field next season.

Probably Johnson who Barnett replaced last season. Hate to see Barnett injured but Johnson should step up and do OK.that_guy;484090 wrote:That's too bad for him. SpeedofsandI've had 3 knee surgeries, I hate to see anyone get a hurt knee. Hope next year he is 100 %
-
darbypitcher22that sucks.
I'm sure they'll coach up Ohrian Johnson. He's got what should be 2 games to get things under his belt -
Red_Skin_PrideI tore my ACL when I was in HS and had to have surgery to repair it and it's not a fast or pleasant rehab, so I hate to see anybody have to deal with that. But he's obviously a great athlete, so he'll get a chance to heal up and have several more opportunities at OSU.

vball10setour depth at dback sure took a blow with this one, but getting him back to 100% is the main concern...hope he has a successful and speedy recovery, and am already looking forward to having him back there next season...GO BUCKS !!!
-
se-alumYea, definitely hated to see this. He was having a good game against Miami, and you could definitely see his potential. I think Johnson will be a very capable replacement, but like stated before, this hurts the depth alot. Anyone else think Moeller may end up the back-up @ SS??
-
thedynasty1998On a positive note, at least it happened now and now later, so that he can get his redshirt. He can get his knee taken care of and should be back at full strength for spring practice next year.
-
Pick6any chance jamie wood ever sees the field?
-
jordo212000Johnson will probably get the bulk of PT...
Wonder if there is any chance that Moeller drops back to SS once they get into the Big 10 schedule (more traditional offenses/less nickle defense) -
-Society-Why the fuck do we care about what people on this site have happened to them? We are talking about college football.
-
Scarlet_BuckeyeTough blow here for Barnett and OSU. Kid was playing great.
-
Fly4FunI once began to choke on a peanut and temporarily thought I was going to die. Then I took a gulp of beer and swallowed it no problem. I hate to see someone get injured. Best of luck to him.

j_crazyIMO he was the best DB for OSU this season. Sucks to see him go down.

Eh, Chekwa was been solid.
Barnett laid some big hits on a couple Miami receivers, but I have faith that Johnson (who many thought would be the starter) will step up. -

This.
Depth at DB is not anything that concerns me, which will probably shock some OSU fans that disagree with me. -

It doesn't concern me either. If all else fails, they move Moeller to SS and fill in the star (LB) with the large depth that OSU has. -
TiernanCJ is a good tackler but Moeller is even better, tho he gives up some cover speed. Defense will not be drastically hurt by this injury. Thankfully next two games give coaches an opportunity to look at a couple of different solutions. No worries mon.

se-alumMoeller is said to be one of the fastest players on the team.
