I disagree on Penn State. I think they were rated where they belong. Bama is really good. Penn State will finish in the 15-18 range. -

I agree. PSU is using a freshman QB who traveled to #1 Alabama and did OK. Penn State will go 9-3 or 8-4 at worst. -
Cleveland BuckBetter:
Oregon - I thought losing Masoli would hurt them, but their new QB is just as good.
Michigan - Denard Robinson
Worse:
Virginia Tech
Florida - I knew they wouldn't be a top 5 team, but I don't think they are a top 20 team. -

South Florida isn't a terrible team. They ended up winning by a really good margin. Don't be fooled by slow starts or small margin victories over small teams (* See OSU) -
Cleveland BuckSouth Florida isn't terrible, but they aren't good either, and Florida couldn't move the ball on them. Their defense looks the part against a bad MAC team and an average (at best) South Florida team, but their offense is putrid. They won't score against Alabama.

USC really? Man, they struggled last night badly against UVA. Barkley was hit and miss and the receivers were dropping balls left and right. USC is a huge disappointment to me so far.
Better to me:Michigan, Oregon, TCU, and Boise
Worse: Florida, VT, GT, USC, and Florida St. -
Cleveland BuckHe said USC East, meaning South Carolina.

Ah, gotya. Never heard it called USCe.
I don't know if that was more South Carolina being good or Georgia being bad. Georgia made some awful plays yesterday and apparently can't tackle. -

They had 423 yards of offense. Come on man, really? I thought you were smarter than that.
They couldn't move the ball at times, but then again I'm pretty sure no team in the country scores every time they touch the ball. -
Cleveland BuckThey started moving it after the defense put the game out of reach and USF quit. They won't score a point against Alabama, and may not against LSU either.

centralbucksfanNot sure this can really be determined after only 2 games. Many teams like Fla haven't played anyone yet. I'd say the only definative one at this point, is VaTech not being nearly as good as some thought. I never thought they were that great in the first place.
PSU? Was it really unexpected that a veteran Bama team, playing at home vs a true frosh in his first road game, second game of his career....wouldn't beat up on PSU? No surprise to me. But it certianly doesn't mean they were overrated, as I don't think they were a top 20 team anyway.
If you have PSU, I would think you could throw in LSU. LSU was LUCKY to beat a decimated UNC last week. And struggled vs a BAD Vandy team for 3qtrs yesterday.
And of course, we all know that Miami is WAY overrated now that OSU beat up on them!!! lol Sarcasm alert!! Anyone who watched that game, nows Miami has TALENT. Question with Miami...is Shannon. -
Azubuike24Veteran Bama team? A team returning only what, 7 starters total on both sides of the ball from a year ago and missing the Heisman Trophy winner? They definitely have talent and a great coach, but "veteran" wouldn't be a word I use to describe them. Remember, McElroy was considered a weakness on last year's team, and many still question his ability. Add to that, he was only starting his 14th game, so it's not like he's unbreakable out there.

OK, a bit overrsated with veteran. But they did return 10 overall starters, with 8 of those on offense. And anyone with an ounce of a brain knows that Richardson is about as good if not possibly better then Ingram. And 14 game starter at QB, playing at home...is what I call experienced. Not sure he was a weakness last year...they just didn't need him to throw to win very often. He did what was asked of him by Saban. Even without Ingram, Bama returned quite a bit of offense.
And I'll take a new inexperienced defense, at home, vs a true frosh QB playing his 2nd career game and first away game, all day long. The score wasn't a shock to me. Bama is #1 for a reason. And PSU was #18 for a reason. Probably ranked too high to be honest. At least this early in the year. -
SpeedofsandUSF beat FSU in Tally last year, in BJ Daniels' first start, as a true freshman. He grew up in Tally and a nole fan but they didn't offer him.
They had 5 players drafted to the NFL. Their last 7 games this year could go either way, Skip could be 6-6 or 10-2.
I can only guess who is better/worse than predicted after 2 games.
Better - Oklahoma, former UGA DC Willie Martinez seems to have the defense tuned up quickly.
Worse - Va Tech. -
MulvaI would say UCLA is worse than I expected. I definitely didn't think they'd lose to Stanford by 35.
Air Force is probably better than I expected. Didn't expect them to beat BYU and they spanked them. They still play @ Oklahoma, @ TCU, and host Utah, so plenty of tests left for them. -
Cleveland BuckAir Force is always a decent team, but BYU is garbage this year. They will win 9 games because they play in the Mountain West, but they aren't very good.
-
redfalconBetter:
South Carolina (I also thought he meant USC)
Oregon
Stanford
Air Force
Worse:
Va Tech (I knew they weren't nearly as good as their rating, but I didn't think they would loose to JMU)
Georgia Tech
Perhaps USC
I really don't think you can include Penn State or Florida State (although that was a pretty ugly loss for FSU. -

Or maybe Ohio State is just better than you expected? -

I said Miami was overrated all of last season, and its not like they were going to be leaps better this year. They were only ranked high because of name. It has nothing to do with OSU playing them why I said I knew they were overated to begin with. PSU is not that good and have some huge holes to fill. And your paragraphs about them and their ranking/overrated stuff makes no sense. And as for LSU, they scored 30 points on UNC in the first half and just tried wasting the clock (playing tressel ball) in the 2nd half. Stupid, IMO. And as for the Vandy game.........they gave up 135 yards of offense and only gave up 3 points. I think LSU is rated where they should be, and Im not going to brag them up. I dont know what they are going to do this year. QB is the HUGE problem. And btw, why are you bringing LSU up? Its not like I put them on my list. Trying to stir the pot Im guessin' -
j_crazybetter than I expected:
USC
Oregon
Oklahoma
Michigan
Notre Dame
Alabama (and that's saying something)
Worse than I expected:
Ole Miss

LSU
Texas (I thought they'd be better than last year's team, but they're not, yet)
I was right about these teams being over-rated:
Florida
Minnesota
West Virginia -
