IliketurtlesJust insane... did boise start the demise of VT? Its crazy to think they could start the season 0-3
-
like_thatWOW. I was really hoping Boise State would ruin the BCS. Way to go VT.
-
Nonyeah that doesn't help Boise a whole lot
Beamer Ball 0-2 -
ts1227Hope you don't mind me editing your title. I figured since that score's a pretty big deal and it's over, might as well get it out there for everyone to see.
-
Manhattan BuckeyeMaybe VPI will actually wear regular unis next week, and get rid of that stupid empty trophy case.
-
that_guyThis should do to VaTech what the App State loss did to Michigan. Move them out of their annual Preseason Top 10 spot, they've now proven for the world to see that they are no longer a top program.

mvredFCS football has some damn good teams!

SykotykVery true, mvred.
Throw in the fact that VT is in a funk after a loss (happens in college and h.s. football) and it's not surprising they felt they could coast through the game while James Madison was playing Goliath. -

Best quote of the day. I cracked up.
Classic hangover effect from the Boise game. I saw some of the game and VT did look like garbage most of the game.
My g/f's sister works at JMU and was freaking out yesterday.
The ACC took a huge hit yesterday. The ACC and Big East are fighting for the bottom of the power conferences.
Oh, and Maryland blew out Morgan St, looking good. Here is something of a bold prediction, Maryland will be in the ACC title picture. -

Well to be fair YSU used to be one of them when a guy by the name of Jim Tressel coached there.Pick6;481272 wrote:and YSU is not one of them -
redfalconDoes this finally prove that VaTech is once again very overrated and that the Boise State win was not that impressive (as in why in the hell are they gaining first place votes for beating a team that just lost to an FBS team?)

The win is certainly not as impressive as once thought, but Boise is still a top 10 football team. The talent they have speaks for itself. How good you are depends on what you have on your team. Not how good your opponents might or might not be -
redfalconI have spent the beginning of this season defending Boise State, but they got lucky against VaTech and we now know how talented VaTech really is.

Not necessarily. How much football have you watched? Hangovers happen. Look at Michigan a few years ago, obviously they had far more talent than App State but App State still beat them and Michigan went on to have an un-Michigan like season. Early season losses can derail seasons. -
Little DannyWasn't the Appy State year the same year Michigan went on to beat Florida in the Capital One Bowl? I think the Wolverines were 9-4 that year and it was Mike Hart's senior year. The Wolverines didn't really go rock bottom until the following year when RichRod took over for Carr. The point is all well taken though, sometimes teams do go in a funk following a tough loss the week before. I would not be surprised to Virginia Tech to rebound from this and still finish with 8 or 9 wins.

Yeah, if VT goes on to win the ACC, Boise beat a BCS conference champion. Plus, the ACC is really a tossup this year. No one has really stood out so far. -

As of now, no, but give Wolford time and we will become one again....
And not much room for anyone from Akron to talk.. you guys just lost to a BAD FCS team!
