9/11: Miami (FL) at Ohio State

ytownfootballI just don't see Robinson hanging all season, Rich Rod has found his Pat White but he's not playing in the Big East anymore.

I think OSU, Iowa, Wisky and PSU have the hard hitting defenses year in and out. These are the games I look to see Robinson potentially getting banged up in. I don't think any other team on UM's schedule can play D like these teams. Especially OSU, after watching the DB's light up the Miami receivers yesterday, I can tell this OSU D is hard hitting.lhslep134;480924 wrote:karen, what'd you make of Kelly's post game comments regarding Shoeloace?
To me, it seemed like Kelly realizes how "fragile" Shoelace seems to be, but was incredulous at the fact that his defense pounded Robinson time and time again and he kept just going.
Bucks fans, it's easy to say he won't hold up simply because he's skinny, but really, do Big Ten defenses hit any harder than any other defenses? Maybe OSU/Iowa, but as a whole, I'd say it's impossible to make a distinction.

Not only that, but he doesn't have a Steve Slaton to lighten the workload for him. It's all Robinson or nothing it seems right now. -

You are right, the Big East plays 2 hand touch. -
ytownfootballThe Big East has arguably some of the absolute worst defenses over the last decade, there really is no argument there karen, you know it.
-
karen lotzI didn't say they had great defenses did I? You guys are talking like the only conference in the country who have any kind of contact is the Big Ten. The Big East has DI athletes that can hit just as hard as the Big Ten. Its funny that you all give SEC fans crap for beating their chest about their teams winning National Championship after National Championship, yet you all are doing the same thing with the Big Ten and their ability to hit hard (among other things).
-
ytownfootballGet off your fricken high horse karen, nobody is touting the Big Ten as anything other than what it is. All I said is the Big East plays shitty defense, nowhere did I say anything about the Big 10. You can't deny the Big East plays crappy defense so you attack the messenger...cool.

I don't think anyone here would deny the SEC can play defense, but that is irrelevent to this conversation since Michigan (and Robinson) will not face a SEC defense this season, they'll be facing Big 10 defenses. And bringing up Big East defenses is to demonstrate that RR's offensive schemes worked against weak Big East defenses, but has yet to work against stronger Big 10 defenses. I think your jumping to conclusions when you say people are chest thumping about Big 10 defenses because, IMO, Big 10 defenses are superior (at the top of the conference) than most any other conference except the SEC. -
karen lotzOnce again, where did I say the Big East plays great defense? They play crappy defense. I'm not denying that or trying to prove otherwise. And how did I attack you from my "high horse" exactly?
-
ytownfootballYou've quickly become not worthy of response this season...good day.
-
karen lotzCan you guys not read good or what? I wish I could type slower.

That truly breaks my heart, but I'm curious as to why? Because I actually didn't say what you thought I said and you were wrong? Good talk. -

You obviously got bent out of shape when someone mentioned Big East defenses are lacking, along with Notre Dame's. I can't believe I picked them to win because of their D...silly me. -

I can read perfectly fine. I never accused you of saying Big East defenses are anything but shitty. I was merely pointing out that I disagree with you that people are chest thumping about Big 10 defenses, and even if they are, the only conference that has better defense overall is the SEC. -

hmm considering I said nothing about the Big East playing stellar defense and you are the first one to mention ND in this current conversation, I'd say you are wrong again. I'm not bent out of shape at all. Nice try. -
AutomatikCoulda fooled me....seems like you get your panties in a bunch on a daily basis. Anyway back to the game...
I just read this stat about Pryor. 52 pass attempts, 28 rushes, 0 turnovers. I know its only been 2 games, but I'm very pleased with that. He still needs to play a bit smarter. He forced a few yesterday that could have easily been picked off. -

That's not the point I was making though. I said the Big Ten outside of maybe OSU or Iowa doesn't hit any harder than any other team. It's not like guys in other conferences are afraid of hitting people.
Terrible defense DOES NOT EQUAL pussy hits. It just means they give up points. -

Thanks, maybe this coming from an OSU fan will be understood.lhslep134;481015 wrote:That's not the point I was making though. I said the Big Ten outside of maybe OSU or Iowa doesn't hit any harder than any other team. It's not like guys in other conferences are afraid of hitting people.

I'd throw Wisky and PSU in there as well. I think superior athletes at bigger schools are hitting harder than MAC schools most of the time. None of them are afraid to hit, but some are more athletic and hit harder. I understand your point though. -

I think Wisky has one player in Valai that hits harder than most, but I don't even know about PSU.
Listen, I don't think Robinson will make it through the season either, I just found it really intriguing that Brian Kelly basically said (in my eyes) "yeah that's a tiny freaking dude and we tried to beat the shit out of him and he still beat us"...so what I thought was a guarantee (Robinson not making it this whole year) became somewhat doubtful (if only slightly).
That's the only point I was getting at, didn't mean for it to spiral outta control like this. -
77LegendMy thoughts;
*- Defense saves this game
*-Special Teams needs to have more defensive players on it
*-Saine is a homerun hitter, not in between the tackles
*-Boom is the more pure running back
*-TP is coming along
*-A lot of work to do on the Offense
Go Bucks! -

Uhhh....ok. I wasn't exactly responding in part or in total to anything you said, your post really wasn't as provocative as you appear to be giving yourself credit for, but what ever. -

Not defending anyone, just saying there is football played outside of the Big Ten. -

I've got to agree with you. Do these guys think Pat White never got tackled? haha. Bad defenses aside Pat White still got tackled 15-20 times a game. -
Benny The JetAny word about CJ Barnett? I've heard ACL tear and is done, but nothing official.
